‘Succession’ Begins Production on Season 4
Production has officially started on Succession Season 4!
In its announcement on Monday, HBO confirms Season 4 of the Emmy-winning comedy-drama series will contain ten episodes.
Season 4 will focus on the sale of Waystar Royco to tech mogul Lukas Matsson. The Roy family is as divided as ever over this business decision, as they fear for what their lives will be without the company to keep them in power and control over politics and culture.

Succession, a series created by Jesse Armstrong, follows the Roy family as patriarch Logan Roy contemplates handing over control of his international media conglomerate, Waystar Royco, to one of his four determined but privileged children — Kendall, Shiv, Roman, and Connor.
The Roy family fold extends to power-hungry but naive cousin Greg Hirsch and the scheming husband of Shiv, Tom Wambsgans, along with other central players as the series continues.
The comedy-drama explores themes of power, familial conflict, wealth, politics, and betrayal as the family battles each other and other enemies for control of the media landscape.

At the end of Season 3, the Roy children are celebrating their mother Caroline’s wedding in Italy as Logan deals with the fate of Waystar.
Kendall, Roman, and Shiv are more concerned about their futures as the potential successors to their father and attempt to overthrow Logan to stop the company sale, but they are unfortunately too late.
With the hopes of using their last bit of power to take back the company, the kids are blindsided by an unexpected legal loophole planned by their parents.
And in a surprise twist that few could have expected, Tom aligns himself with Logan instead of Shiv, a shocking but tactical power move to stay on the winning side after years of being seen as the fool. Tom presumably takes his wingman Greg with him to Logan’s side.

Succession‘s first two seasons earned 23 Emmy nominations, resulting in nine wins for the series.
To add to its already massive success, Succession Season 2 specifically won an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.
Season 3, which aired in the Fall of 2021, won Guild Awards in categories such as WGA, DGA, and PGA. It additionally won the SAG Award for drama ensemble.
A release date for Season 4 has not been announced.
