Girls5Eva Review: Returnity (Season 2 Episode 7)
Girls5Eva Season 2 starts its endgame with the latest episode.
Wickie, Dawn, Gloria, and Summer are each facing personal conflicts on Girls5Eva Season 2 Episode 7, “Returnity.” These new issues are leading into an exciting Season 2 finale.
Wickie may have the most interesting question marks above her as she heads into this new chapter with the band. She’s fallen for another normie, Sheawn, the “Lunch Lord.”

Knowing Wickie, she’ll end up falling a little too hard for his magic nuggets but, ultimately, she’ll pick her career over romance. (At least that’s my guess.) Chad L. Coleman is always a delight to see on the screen, so hopefully, Wickie goes against her nature and decides to continue their romance in possible season 3.
Fans, however, shouldn’t get their hopes up too much, because we know that Wickie can only take normies for so long, as we saw a few episodes ago.
“Returnity” has a nice role reversal with Kev getting to play know-it-all to Gloria. It is still surprising that Kev hasn’t been used more this season, with him living in Summer’s basement and all.

The end of “Returnity” makes it seem like Kev may be in her basement forever, so there could be plenty more Kev in future episodes. Let’s hope.
Dawn’s situation has the most unexpected twist in this Girls5Eva episode. It’s unclear how this will reach a resolution that’s happy for her in any way.
It should be interesting to watch how the writers resolve the baby and tour dilemma, if they do at all this season.
Sara Bareilles gives one of her best performances of the season on “Returnity.”

She has some of the funniest lines and scenes in this episode. The scene with her and the doctor really captures Dawn’s endearing neurotic behavior.
Gloria needs a major shakeup going into a potential Girls5Eva Season 3, and her dating around seems like the perfect way to spice up this character’s life.
Viewers have already seen Gloria’s awkward flirting skills with women, so there are so many potentially funny moments that could come from her dating life. It also opens the door for even more guest stars and recurring characters.

Gloria and her ex-wife’s storyline can only end in a breakup, but it will be interesting to see if she takes up taxidermy next week due to her stress.
Overall, this Girls5Eva episode has all the things we love about the show, including more unbelievably catchy songs, but a little more focus as it heads into its season finale.
Other Thoughts
- The “You Ready” song brings back so many girl group memories of songs that start that way.
- The plan to cause Girls5Eva earworms is hilarious because it combines the modern pop culture reference of articles that are completely clickbait and the time when songs annoyingly played on loop on websites.
- I still want a 16-track album released after the season finale, especially since we keep hearing more snippets of songs.
- Chad L. Coleman is more known for dramatic roles, but he’s just as good in comedic roles. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans already know, and now Girls5Eva fans know as well.
- I love that Kev and Summer’s “babe” has been turned into “ex-babe
