‘The Equalizer’ Renewed for Seasons 3 and 4 at CBS

News

The Equalizer, starring Queen Latifah, will return for Season 3 and 4 on CBS.

The series comes from executive producers Andrew Marlowe, Terri Edda Miller, John Davis, John Fox, Debra Martin Chase, Richard Lindheim (co-creator of the original Equalizer TV series), Shakim Compere, Joseph C. Wilson, and Dana Owens (Queen Latifah).

With Latifah as the head of the show, The Equalizer has become Sunday’s #1 scripted series after its premiere following 2021’s Super Bowl.

According to Thom Shermann, senior executive vice president of programming at CBS entertainment, “The Equalizer continues to pack a powerful punch on Sunday nights, and we’re thrilled to have it back for two more seasons.”

“The success of The Equalizer is due to the sum of its parts – an outstanding cast led by the superb Queen Latifah, plus the exceptional creative team that has continued to evolve their storytelling with a compelling mix of everyday justice, family dynamics, and real-world issues that connect and resonate with audiences.”

The second season finale will air Sunday, May 15, on CBS. With 16 episodes aired up to April 24, Robyn McCall has had to face many personal challenges as she tries to help those who reach out to her.

Luckily equalizing is not done alone, and with the help of Melody, Harry, and Dante, she has managed to overcome many obstacles.

With Dante being shot and temporarily out of the game, viewers saw him challenged by his past, family, and decisions. After being kidnapped by fellow police officers, his sons put in danger, and having a near-death experience, he asks himself if becoming a policeman was the right option or if he should go back to law school.

The end of The Equalizer Season 2 Episode 16, “Vox Populi,” answers that question when Dante wears his badge once more.

Harry and Melody are still navigating their new reality as more people find out Harry “comes back” from the dead. First facing one of Melody’s best friends, then one of Harry’s.

It seems like they cannot catch a break between mourning, having to tell people the truth, and helping Robyn catch the bad guys.

With Bishop’s death in the hands of her biggest enemy, Mason Quinn, McCall feels a loss she has not experienced before. On top of her grief, she finds herself between her ex-husband and daughter.

Not wanting Delilah to have to lie for her, but not wanting to give up her career. She understands she is doing what is best for her family as her daughter tells her she always feels safe at home.

Although audiences have yet to figure out how Season 2 will end, there is excitement to see what will happen as Dante rejoins the force and Robyn continues to follow her calling as the equalizer.
