Disney’s ‘Percy Jackson And The Olympians’ Series Casts Its Annabeth and Grover
Percy Jackson and the Olympians has found its golden trio at last!
Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries will join Walker Scobell’s Percy Jackson in the live-action adaptation of Rick Riordan’s bestselling mythology series. This casting news officially rounds out the show’s core cast of heroes and confirms the start of their quest is nearing.

Simhadri (Cheaper By the Dozen) will play Grover Underwood, a satyr disguised as a 12-year-old boy tasked with watching over Percy.
Simhadri’s character is described as someone who “cares deeply about others and will always choose what is best for them, sometimes at his own expense. Though cautious by nature, he’ll always throw himself into a fight to protect his friends, especially his best friend, Percy Jackson.”
Riordan shared his excitement over the casting with fans, stating, “He had me laughing out loud with his delivery and timing. He has a mixture of sweetness, humor and internal toughness that is perfect for our favorite satyr.”
“Grover has some big flying shoes to fill, but Aryan is exactly the right guy for the job. He and Walker already have a great dynamic together. And the visual magic we will be using to give Aryan his satyr’s goat legs is next-level stuff.”
Jeffries (Empire) will star as our wise girl, Annabeth Chase. As the daughter of Athena, Annabeth is a brilliant strategist and head-strong leader who has no time for sea-weed-brain boys like Percy Jackson.

The series teases her role in Percy’s arrival at the camp, revealing that “after having spent the last five years at Camp Half-Blood, she longs to test her mettle in the human world, of which she barely remembers. She trains Percy to survive the mythological world, and in turn, he helps her connect with her humanity.”
Annabeth is canonically white with blonde hair in the books, but fans have campaigned vocally for Disney to cast a BIPOC actor in the role, and it seems the TV gods have answered those prayers.
For Riordan, the decision to cast Jeffries as the titular wise girl was clear. “Leah is exactly the way I imagined Annabeth in the books: smart, strong, and courageous, a true daughter of Athena who has zero patience for the foolishness of a certain Seaweed Brain. Watching her act with Walker and Aryan, I saw Annabeth Chase come to life.”
Percy Jackson and the Olympians will start production soon in Vancouver.
