Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of March 13th! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from marathons to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to.

This week’s picks include Minx debuts on HBO Max, AppleTV+ takes on the WeWork story, and more.

2022 Critics Choice Awards – Sunday, March 13

Awards season continues at pace as Taye Diggs and Nicole Byer are set to host the Critics Choice Awards, honoring the best in the last year of television and film. The 2022 Critics Choice Awards airs Sunday, March 13 at 7/6c on the CW.

Description: Broadcast live from the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel along with stars gathering at the Savoy Hotel in London, Hollywood’s best and brightest celebrate the finest in cinematic and televised achievement for the 27th annual Critics Choice Awards. Hosted by acclaimed film, television and stage star Taye Diggs (“All American”) and actress, comedian, author and podcaster Nicole Byer (“Wipeout”), the Critics Choice Awards feature the best in film, television and streaming from the past year. Actress Halle Berry will be honored with this year’s SeeHer Award and Billy Crystal will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Adam by Eve: A Live in Animation – Tuesday, March 15

Netflix’s latest streaming project will bring a mix of music, concert footage, and animation to tell a single story revolving around Japanese artist, Eve’s, music. Adam by Eve: A Live in Animation debuts Tuesday, March 15 on Netflix.  

Movie Description: Starting his career as a singer on the Internet, the up-and-coming singer-songwriter Eve has achieved 1.2 billion views on YouTube, 3.3 million subscribers, and over three million followers on social media. With Kaikai Kitan being the top song streamed overseas on Spotify for a Japanese artist in 2021, Eve is the next-generation artist who’s currently attracting the most attention. Combining new songs written by Eve, new animation, live-action drama that brings to life Eve’s past hits, and original concert footage that fans have long wished for, the newly-announced Adam by Eve: A Live in Animation is a brand-new entertainment live film that delivers his entire body of work crafted into a single musical story.

All of the familiar faces of Pine Academy are stuck in detention, which takes a turn for the worse when Lilly’s nightmare monster takes shape all while the girls aren’t seeing eye to eye. Astrid & Lilly Save the World airs Wednesday, March 16 at 10/9c on Syfy.

Episode Description: Lilly’s nightmare monster comes to life during detention, but fighting with Astrid might be scarier.

Minx – Thursday, March 17

Featuring a cast that includes Jake Johnson, Ophelia Lovibond, Lennon Parham, Jessica Lowe, and more, this new series follows a woman who embarks on a mission to create the first feminist magazine. This path leads her and a publisher to create the first erotic women’s magazine. Minx debuts with two episodes every week Thursday, March 17 on HBO Max.

Series Description: MINX is set in 1970s Los Angeles and centers around Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond), an earnest young feminist who joins forces with a low-rent publisher (Jake Johnson) to create the first erotic magazine for women.

From the creators of Big Mouth, comes the latest animated series following the lives off different creatures that make humans feels all of the things: hormones, depression, shame, and more. Human Resources debuts Friday, March 18 on Netflix.

Series Description: The spin-off pulls back the curtain on the daily lives of the creatures – Hormone Monsters, Depression Kitties, Shame Wizards and many more – that help humans journey through every aspect of life from puberty to parenthood to the twilight years. It quickly becomes clear that though the protagonists are creatures, they have a lot of humanity themselves. Featuring an all-star voice cast— including Nick Kroll, Maya Rudolph and David Thewlis reprising their Big Mouth roles as well as Aidy Bryant, Brandon Kyle Goodman, Keke Palmer, and Randall Park among others — Human Resources is not your normal day at the office. The series is co-created and executive produced by Kelly Galuska, Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin.

Jesse Plemons, Lily Collins, and Jason Segel star in this thriller following a couple who head to their vacation home to discover that things are not the way they left them. Windfall debuts Friday, March 18 on Netflix.

Movie Description: A Hitchcockian thriller following a wealthy couple who arrive at their vacation home only to find it’s being robbed.

Life & Beth – Friday, March 18

Starring and created by Amy Schumer, this comedy-drama follows a woman stuck in a rut and decides to re-evaluate her life choices and make some new ones. Life & Beth debuts Friday, March 18 on Hulu.

Series Description: After a sudden incident, Beth, a seemingly successful woman with a long term relationship and steady career, takes a look back at her past to see who she wants to become.

The latest in a series of dramatized retellings of real-life corporate scandals comes AppleTV+’s take on what caused WeWork’s meteoric rise and catastrophic fall from grace starring Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway. WeCrashed debuts Friday, March 18 on AppleTV+.

Series Description: Inspired by actual events — and the love story at the center of it all. WeWork grew from a single coworking space into a global brand worth $47 billion in under a decade. Then, in less than a year, its value plummeted. What happened?
