The Cleaning Lady Review: Full On Gangsta (Season 1 Episode 8)
On The Cleaning Lady Season 1 Episode 8, “Full On Gangsta,” Thony risks everything to save the person she loves the most, Garrett is just as obnoxious as ever, and Arman’s marital problems hit a dead end.
First, though, we must discuss Marco because he’s still here for some reason.
Marco loves to talk about how he’s Luca’s father, but maybe one of these days, he’ll act like it.
Marital Status: It’s Complicated

Thony and Arman head to Mexico for entirely different reasons, but they still end up together. Forbidden love is one of the most timeless and romantic tropes, but when these two consenting adults willingly cheat on their spouses, things get a bit iffy.
And by “a bit,” I mean a lot.
Nadia could be a compelling character, except that we know almost nothing about her. So understandably, we’ve been digging into other characters, learning their backstories and their reasons for doing what they do.
But somewhere along the way, Nadia became Arman’s wife.

It’s pretty disappointing to have a character in 2022 be so very underdeveloped, but maybe the show is waiting to see if it gets renewed for a Season 2.
Marco, on the other hand, we know a bit more about. The most important thing we know about Marco is that he has a gambling addiction in the Philippines and Las Vegas.
He keeps a chip worth $25,000 after spending Luca’s $20,000 for his surgery and then expects Thony to say thank you. He’s poised himself to be a hero for a child who already thinks of him as such and a wife who never will.
As Fiona notes, Marco definitely needs help and understanding — but he needs to take responsibility for his actions.
Mexic-Oh-No

In Mexico, everything goes wrong because this is The Cleaning Lady, which just happens now.
Hayak is not a stupid man, but Arman believes that Hayak wouldn’t question Arman’s location and reasoning.
The best Arman comes up with is that an Aunt of his died, which would be a great cover-up if he had a 9-5 office job and not a criminal empire.
Hayak tells Nadia that he knows she’s lying because he called Arman’s father to apologize for his loss, and I can’t help rolling my eyes.
Arman not considering the possibility of Hayak contacting Arman’s family seems wrong. Arman is an intelligent man, and I almost can’t believe that this was the best excuse he could come up with.

On the other side of things, Thony gives Luca a shot of that pink medicine we all begged for as kids (it was Amoxicillin) and then performs his liver transplant surgery.
It’s exhilarating to see Thony use Arman to her advantage, especially when he thinks it’s the opposite.
I certainly did not have Arman’s car blowing up on my The Cleaning Lady bingo chart, and I’m curious to know if anyone else saw it coming.
Stray Thoughts:
- There are enough stakes on the show with Garrett and the FBI and Arman with Hayak. Please leave Luca alone.
- Surely Garrett doesn’t just have this one case going on, right? So there have to be other cases he’s reporting on.
- Katherine Russo, I’m going to get you out of there.
- Garrett Miller: [speaks] Me: boo tomato tomato tomato throwing tomatoes!
