Ms. Marvel Trailer and Premiere Date Announced by Disney+

Ms. Marvel, News

Get ready to meet the MCU’s newest superhero who will be gracing our television screens with a new series this summer.

Ms. Marvel follows Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) as she navigates high school, home life, and adjusts to her newly acquired superpowers.

Kamala is your average teenager. She’s obsessed with the Avengers, especially Captain Marvel, has an over-active imagination, and is struggling to fit in both at home and at school. Add some superpowers to the mix, and life is bound to get interesting for Kamala.

Disney+ announced that Ms. Marvel will premiere on Wednesday, June 8. Based on previous MCU Disney+ shows, we can expect that episodes will be released weekly.

The trailer gives us a glimpse into Kamala’s life, complete with school bullies, crushes, family obligations, and trying out some badass new powers.

Tonally, the trailer makes it clear that Ms. Marvel is going to be more light-hearted and less “what the hell is going on” than Moon Knight, which will be wrapping up its run on Disney+ shortly before Ms. Marvel begins. I’m sure we will all appreciate the change of pace.

Series Description: Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel  is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega-fan with an oversized imagination — particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home — that is until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with superpowers, right?
