Max Thieriot to Star in CBS Drama Pilot ‘Cal Fire’
Max Thieriot will star in the new CBS show Cal Fire! But what does that mean for his role on Paramount+’s SEAL Team?
Thieriot’s involvement with the fire-fighting drama has expanded since its initial announcement earlier this month. Now, the actor will pull double-duty as an executive producer and the series’ lead, according to TVLine.
Originally, TVLine reported that Thieriot would only have an off-camera role in the show’s production. His more prominent role is an exciting development for the actor. But is it something SEAL Team fans should worry about?

Not yet! TVLine cites a CBS source that suggests Thieriot could juggle his current role on SEAL Team with Cal Fire if the latter gets a series pick-up beyond the already ordered Pilot.
This news bodes well for Thieriot’s character Clay Spenser on SEAL Team since Paramount+ recently renewed the series for a sixth season.
On Cal Fire, Thieriot will play Bode, a young convict who joins a fire-fighting program for inmates as a means to shorten his prison sentence.

According to the official description, the program brings Bode back to his hometown in Northern California, “where he and other inmates work alongside elite firefighters to extinguish massive blazes across the region.”
Thieriot co-wrote the story along with Tony Phelan and JoanGrey’s (Grey’s Anatomy, Madam Secretary), based on his experiences growing up in Northern California fire country.
Phelan and Rater penned the script and will also serve as executive producers, along with Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, and KristieAnne Reed.
