Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of December 12th! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from marathons to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to during the holiday season.
This week’s picks include a peek at American Auto, The Witcher’s return, With Love, and more.

A Christmas Proposal – Sunday, December 12
The holiday season is in full swing and that means more holiday movies coming our way. This one features a fantastic, timeless trope at the center of it all: fake dating. A Christmas Proposal debuts on December 12 on CBS and Paramount+.
Movie Description: Chef who dreams of having own food trucks, agrees to pose as girlfriend of an attorney. Working together, they try to prove he’s the ideal candidate to take over the family firm but is complicated as real sparks begin to fly.
American Auto – Monday, December 13
From the creator of Superstore comes another workplace comedy set in a different kind of office: an auto manufacturing company. With a new CEO at the helm who has limited knowledge of cars, their new team steps in to offer help. American Auto debuts Monday, December 13 at 10/9c on NBC.
Series Description: From the creator of “Superstore” comes a new workplace comedy that takes the wheels off the automobile industry. Set in Detroit, the corporate executives of Payne Motors are at a crossroads: adapt to the changing times or be sent to the junkyard. Shaking things up is the new CEO, whose leadership, experience and savvy is only slightly offset by her complete lack of knowledge about cars. Luckily, her team has some of the best minds in the business – when they aren’t fighting or trying to outwit each other. From the corporate office to the factory floor, the crew of Payne Motors is driving home the laughs.
Grand Crew – Tuesday, December 14
From Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Phil Augusta Jackson and Dan Goor comes a new comedy series that follows a group of friends as they navigate the rollercoaster that is adulthood. Grand Crew premieres Tuesday, December 14 at 8/7c on NBC.
Series Description: From Phil Augusta Jackson (Writer/Producer/Director, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) and Dan Goor (Creator, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) comes a new comedy that proves life is better with your crew. This group of young professionals are all trying to navigate the ups and downs of life and love in Los Angeles – and they always find time to gather at their favorite bar to “wine down” and unpack it all. There’s Noah, a hopeless romantic too eager to settle down; Nicky, a go-getter in real estate who’s adventurous in romance; Sherm, a low-key genius who plays the dating odds; Anthony, whose true love is his career; Wyatt, who’s relieved to be married and out of the dating scene; and Fay, who’s recently divorced and looking to start fresh in LA. And just like wine, their friendship gets better with time.
The Enchanted Christmas Cake – Wednesday, December 15
When a chef heads to a small town, a local baker helps him prepare for a Christmas special as she tries to get her holiday spirit back. The Enchanted Christmas Cake debuts Wednesday, December 15 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
Movie Description: When a high-end chef comes to town to film a Christmas special, local baker Gwen agrees to help handsome TV producer Gavin prepare for the shoot in hopes of regaining her Christmas spirit, which she lost when her grandma Lottie passed last year.
Kenan – Wednesday, December 15
Kenan returns for a holiday episode as the team takes on the annual Holiday Spectacular. Kenan returns Wednesday, December 15 at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.
Episode Description: As the team prepares for the annual Holiday Spectacular, Kenan is upset when Gary pursues a new client, Rick attempts to unseat Tami as the leader of the band and Mika feels her work is unappreciated.
A California Christmas: City Lights – Thursday, December 16
Netflix’s next holiday sequel follows Callie and Joseph in the aftermath of the events of the first film. Their happily ever after has a couple of obstacles in their path. Will they make it through? A California Christmas: City Lights debuts Thursday, December 16 on Netflix.
Movie Description: It’s been a year since Callie and Joseph fell in love, and they’re happier than ever running their dairy farm and winery, until business and family obligations call him back to the city — and threaten to derail their romance.
Swan Song – Friday, December 17
Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris, and Glenn Close star in the latest Apple TV+ film that follows a man in the face of a terminal diagnosis must decide whether or not to be honest about it to his family and reaches out to his doctor for assistance. Swan Song Premieres Friday, December 17 at Apple TV+.
Movie Description: Set in the near future, Swan Song is a powerful, emotional journey told through the eyes of Cameron (Mahershala Ali), a loving husband and father who is expecting his second child with his wife Poppy (Naomie Harris). When Cameron is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he is presented with an alternative solution by his doctor (Glenn Close) to shield his family from grief. As Cameron grapples with whether or not to alter his family’s fate, he learns more about life and love than he ever imagined. The Witcher – Friday, December 17
Geralt of Rivia and company are back and in the aftermath of the Battle of Sodden finds himself taking Ciri to the safest place he knows, fully believing that he’s lost Yennefer. With the trio now no longer in the same place and more to be discovered about the continent, where will we see them all end up? The Witcher returns Friday, December 17 on Netflix.
Season Description: Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.
With Love – Friday, December 17
From the co-creator of One Day at a Time comes the story of the Diaz siblings through multiple holidays, personal ups and downs, and all of the family drama that comes along with it. With Love debuts Friday, December 17 on Prime Video.
Series Description: With Love is a multi-holiday romantic comedy series, written and created by Gloria Calderón Kellett, follows the Diaz siblings, Lily and Jorge Jr., on a mission to find love and purpose. In each of the five episodes follows Lily, Jorge Jr. and the entire Diaz family as they navigate the highs and lows of love during a different holiday throughout the year, including Christmas Eve/Nochebuena, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, the Fourth of July, and Dia de los Muertos.
