This Is Us Season 6 Sneak Peek: The Pearsons Prepare for Their Final Chapter

Previews, This is Us, Video

This Is Us kicks off the Big Three’s annual birthday celebrations with more of television’s most endearing couple.

In the first sneak peek from This Is Us Season 6 Episode 1, “The Challenger,” Rebecca and Jack welcome us back to a simpler time as they glide around the kitchen to the hum of the radio.

Rebecca caught up in the music, ponders whether “Can’t Fight This Feeling” will be one of the all-time great songs, and without missing a beat, Jack declares, “All-time greatest bands! REO Speedwagon is the new Beatles.”

The two lovebirds abandon their tasks entirely to sway to the music, turning the few moments they have alone into a swooning serenade complete with an impromptu musical number from Milo Ventimiglia.

Alas, the always adorable toddler Big Three quickly burst the couple’s bubble to commemorate their “big day” with tang and goodbye kisses.

Jack is rightfully distracted by the cuteness and nearly forgets his briefcase, but Rebecca has him covered.

The scene is full of wholesome family interactions as Jack ponders what he would do without his other half. Rebecca cleverly points out, “You would lose your briefcase a lot,” to which Jack responds, “I would lose my mind.”

In this second sneak peek for “The Challenger,” This Is Us chooses to focus on a different love story, one with a fast-approaching expiry date.

Kate and Toby are keeping their chemistry alive despite last season’s cliffhanger suggesting this is the beginning of the end for them.

In an attempt to make this long-distance commute work, Toby calls Kate to wish her a happy birthday, but stress and encroaching coworkers rush his sentiments.

When Kate shows concern, Toby brushes her off, saying, “There’s no time for me,” as he launches into his sweeping Pearson gesture. He has arranged for Miguel, Rebecca, and Nicky to take the kids and give Kate a much-needed afternoon stay-cay.

It’s revealed Nicky and Miguel are besties, as Toby explains, “They are all attached at the hip since he started staying with them.”

Toby then proceeds to steamroll through the rest of his grand gesture before declaring his love once more and signing off, leaving Kate’s “I love you too” to fall on deaf ears.
