Legacies Review: There’s No I In Team, or Whatever (Season 4 Episode 2)
On Legacies Season 4 Episode 2, “There’s No I In Team, or Whatever,” the Super Squad attempt to save Landon and Cleo once again.
In another desperate attempt to save Landon and Cleo, the Super Squad initiate a magic transference between Clarke and Malivore. But, to their dismay, it does not work in their favor.
The Squad continues to exhaust all its resources on Malivore, with everything backfiring. Malivore grows stronger day by day, watching them panic and attempting other avenues for his demise. However, nothing will defeat Malivore besides Hope’s tribrid side, and the more they fail, the more Hope realizes the fact.
Hope is an intelligent woman and can see when something isn’t working. Using Clarke as a placeholder for Malivore is a smart idea, but Malivore’s freedom isn’t factored in. He’s had the time to grow his powers and work on his plans while free, so he likely has a play for whatever they can throw at him.

The blossoming relationship between Lizzie and Ethan is an interesting aspect to explore, but I fear it’ll bring issues.
Love triangles are never fun, and most times end up with one member, or all, leaving with a broken heart. Lizzie and Ethan would make an adorable couple, and they deserve the opportunity to test the waters out.
Plenty of time has passed without MG talking to Lizzie after she’s admitted her feelings for him. So, it would be more pleasing to see him focus on himself or someone new in the future rather than stalking Ethan and Lizzie.
With all of that being said, Ethan has to survive Malivore’s body-snatching first before he can focus on winning Lizzie.

Josie and Finch’s relationship update is super disheartening, especially after they have the most adorable scene on Season 4 Episode 1. It would be nice to get a chance to see the two of them living their best lives for more than two episodes in a row. I know that’s asking too much, but the audience deserves it!
Landon and Cleo’s interactions throughout the episode are the absolute best. Landon has never met Cleo before and has been stuck inside Malivore for months, but his kindness still prevails. He keeps his optimism and hopes that someone will figure out a way to end it all, and it’s encouraging. It’s precisely what Cleo needs to get out of her funk.
Cleo is at her breaking point with Malivore, but his voice of reason brings her back to clarity. Unfortunately, that clarity also allows Cleo to envision the one thing that can kill Hope: the white oak. If she can’t make her escape soon enough, Malivore will have just what he wants.

Even though Landon helps Cleo, I’d still be okay with him kicking the bucket and allowing Hope to move on to better things. Which, based on brand new information about Season 4, it looks like we might see just that.
Rebekah Mikaelson will make her first appearance on Legacies with Season 4 Episode 5. The episode advertises Rebekah making her way to town because she’s fearful of the path Hope has chosen. This could mean several things, but considering Season 4 Episode 4 is the actual finale for Season 3, it could mean Hope activates her tribrid side.
It’s safe to assume that Season 4 Episode 4 will see the actual death of Landon Kirby, and Hope won’t be able to handle it. With her (possible) newfound tribrid status, she’ll more than likely switch her emotions off to avoid facing reality, which is where Rebekah would fit in.
There’s no telling what’s in store for the next two episodes, ending Season 3 for good, but tears can be expected. It’s easily noticeable that Legacies is putting in work on the backend of Season 3 to set up a horror-filled Season 4.
Other Thoughts:
- Wade and Jed don’t get a lot of airtime, but it’s almost always to bring in comedic relief when they do. It’s time that the two of them get a storyline that lasts longer than four episodes. Wade’s fairy powers are incredibly fascinating, so it would be lovely to have an episode dedicated to fairies.
- The look on Landon’s face when Cleo reveals she dated Da Vinci is priceless.
- I’m still not over the fact that Finch admits she loves Josie, and it’s a sad moment instead of joyous.
