Preview — Leverage: Redemption: Let’s Go Steal a Revival

The Hacker, Hitter, Grifter, and Thief are back with all new cons on Leverage: Redemption.

IMDB TV reunites original series stars Gina Bellman (Sophie), Christian Kane (Eliot), Beth Riesgraf (Parker), and Aldis Hodge (Hardison) for a revival of the cult hit. The new outing features the team getting back together for just one more job, which of course always leads to more.

This time around they are joined by TV vet Noah Wyle as corporate lawyer Harry Wilson and Aleyse Shannon as Breanna Casey, Hardison’s brilliant little sister. Harry realizes he’s tired of working for the bad guys, then finds himself drawn into the not necessarily legal shenanigans of the crew.

After hearing Hardison’s stories about his adventures, Breanna decides she’s ready to join the team. With his busy filming schedule, Hodge will only appear as a recurring player, so Breanna is expected to be the team’s primary tech expert.

Leverage: Redemption Season 1 is 16 episodes, with the first 8 premiering Friday, July 9. The second half of the season will debut at a later date.

For the uninitiated, Leverage is heist-themed fun following a team of thieves who use their skills to help regular people fight the rich and powerful. It originally ran on TNT for five seasons and 77 episodes. If you need to catch up before Leverage: Redemption, it’s currently streaming on IMDB TV.

Episode description: In this new iteration, and new world, the Leverage crew have watched as the rich and powerful continue to take what they want without consequence. Grifter Sophie Devereaux, thief Parker, hitter Eliot Spencer, and hacker Alec Hardison have watched the world change over the last eight years. Since their last job, it’s become easier — and sometimes legal — for the rich to become richer and the powerful to squash anyone who gets in their way. To address the changes in the world around them, the team finds new blood in Harry Wilson, a corporate lawyer who is looking for redemption after realizing he’d been sitting on the wrong side of the table for his entire career, and Breanna Casey, Hardison’s foster sister who has a knack for computers, robotics, and getting into trouble.
