When a job goes wrong, a group of criminals search for the truth behind the job. No Sudden Move debuts on HBO Max on July 1.

Film Description: Set in 1954 Detroit, No Sudden Move centers on a group of small-time criminals who are hired to steal what they think is a simple document. When their plan goes horribly wrong, their search for who hired them — and for what ultimate purpose — weaves them through all echelons of the race-torn, rapidly changing city. 

Monsters at Work (Disney+) – July 2

After Mike and Sulley discover that laughter generates more energy than screams, everything changes at Monsters, Incorporated. Monsters At Work premieres on Disney+ on July 2.

Series Description: Monsters At Work takes place the day after the Monsters, Incorporated power plant started harvesting the laughter of children to fuel the city of Monstropolis, thanks to Mike and Sulley’s discovery that laughter generates ten times more energy than screams. It follows the story of Tylor Tuskmon, an eager young monster who graduated top of his class at Monsters University and always dreamed of becoming a Scarer until he lands a job at Monsters, Incorporated, and discovers that scaring is out and laughter is in. After Tylor is temporarily reassigned to the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team(MIFT), he must work alongside a misfit bunch of mechanics while setting his sights on becoming a Jokester.

Chris Pratt stars in The Tomorrow War, which follows a desperate civilization thirty years in the future determined to do anything to change their fate. The Tomorrow War premieres on Amazon Prime Video on July 2.

Film Description: In The Tomorrow War, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.

Gossip Girl (HBO Max) – July 8

Hey upper east siders, HBO Max is updating the beloved series, giving us new characters and a new social-media-savvy Gossip Girl. It’s bound to be as deliciously dramatic as the original. Gossip Girl debuts on HBO Max on July 8

Series Description: This extension of the pop culture classic takes us back to the Upper East Side finding a new generation of New York private school teens being introduced to social surveillance nine years after the original blogger’s website went dark.

The team is getting back together, with a couple of new editions, to do what they do best — take the rich and powerful down a couple of notches. Leverage: Redemption premieres on IMDb TV on July 9.

Series Description: In this new iteration, and new world, the Leverage crew have watched as the rich and powerful continue to take what they want without consequence. Grifter Sophie Devereaux, thief Parker, hitter Eliot Spencer, and hacker Alec Hardison have watched the world change over the last eight years. Since their last job, it’s become easier — and sometimes legal — for the rich to become richer and the powerful to squash anyone who gets in their way.  To address the changes in the world around them, the team finds new blood in Harry Wilson, a corporate lawyer who is looking for redemption after realizing he’d been sitting on the wrong side of the table for his entire career, and Breanna Casey, Hardison’s foster sister who has a knack for computers, robotics, and getting into trouble.

It’s almost time to check back in with Melinda, Jack, and the town of Virgin River. Virgin River Season 3 debuts on Netflix on July 9.

Season Description: In Virgin River season three, we’ve got even more drama in store for our beloved characters. Highlights include, a funeral, a fire, a divorce, a hurricane and a new romance, in a twist-packed season that’ll keep fans on the edge of their seats.

This Way Up Season 2 (Hulu) – July 9

Season 2 finds Aine leaving rehab and potentially making some not-so-great life choices. This Way Up Season 2 premieres on July 9 on Hulu.

Season Description: Season two of the BAFTA award-winning series is set after the events of the season one finale, with things in flux for Aine and her sister, Shona. Aine’s starting to leave her time in rehab behind and live less cautiously, which may not be entirely wise. Will she and Richard make a go of it? Or continue to exist in the odd tension of the employer and employee? How will Shona and Charlotte manage running a new business together and having feelings for each other? When a job goes sideways, an assassin finds a target on her back, and she must reunite with her mother in order to survive. Gunpowder Milkshake premieres on July 14 on Netflix.

When multiple patients start leaving one doctor’s operating room either permanently maimed or dead, fellow physicals and the city’s prosecutor start investigating the surgeon. Dr. Death premieres on July 15 on Peacock.

Series Description: Based on Wondery’s hit podcast, Dr. Death is inspired by the terrifying true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a rising star in the Dallas medical community. Young, charismatic and ostensibly brilliant, Dr. Duntsch was building a flourishing neurosurgery practice when everything suddenly changed. Patients entered his operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries and left permanently maimed or dead. As victims piled up, two fellow physicians, neurosurgeon Robert Henderson and vascular surgeon Randall Kirby, as well as Dallas prosecutor Michelle Shughart, set out to stop him. Devi tries to figure out who she should choose, Ben or Paxton, and stumbles across the not-so-great idea of having two boyfriends at once. Never Have I Ever Season 2 premieres on July 15 on Netflix.

Schmigadoon! (Apple TV+) – July 16

A backpacking trip goes terribly wrong when a couple stumbles upon a town where everyone is living in a musical… and they can’t leave until they find their true love. Schmigadoon! premieres on July 16 on Apple TV+.

Series Description: A parody of iconic musicals, Schmigadoon! is a new musical comedy series executive produced by Lorne Michaels and starring Emmy Award nominee Cecily Strong and Emmy Award winner Keegan-Michael Key as a couple on a backpacking trip designed to reinvigorate their relationship when they discover a magical town in which everyone is living in a studio musical from the 1940s. They then discover that they can’t leave until they find “true love.”

AFC Richmond is struggling to win games, but Coach Lasso remains optimistic. Ted Lasso Season 2 premieres on Apple TV+ on July 23

Series Description: Jason Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer.

Resort To Love (Netflix) – July 29

There’s nothing more awkward than learning you’ve been hired as the entertainment for your ex-fiancé’s wedding, except maybe having to keep it a secret from the bride-to-be. Resort to Love debuts on Netflix on July 29.

Film Description: A romantic comedy about aspiring pop star Erica (Christina Milian) who ends up as the entertainment at her ex-fiancé’s wedding after reluctantly taking a gig at a luxurious Mauritius island resort while in the wake of a music career meltdown. She tries to keep their past relationship a secret from his bride-to-be Beverly, but Erica rediscovers her feelings for her ex, Jason (Jay Pharoah), despite his brother Caleb’s (Sinqua Walls) attempts to keep them from falling back in love. In this warm and funny romantic story that explores the bonds of love and family, the question soon becomes will Erica sing at Beverly’s wedding — or her own?

The Pursuit of Love (Amazon Prime Video) – July 30

Based on Nancy Mitford’s novel of the same name, The Pursuit of Love follows two friends as they search for love and marriage. The Pursuit of Love premieres on July 30 on Amazon Prime Video.

Their friendship is put to the test as Fanny settles for a steady life and Linda decides to follow her heart, to increasingly wild and outrageous places.
