Preview — Loki: The God of Mischief Returns for a Glorious Time-Traveling Adventure

Loki, Previews

Mischief is making its comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Loki — a chaotic time-traveling adventure.

Taking place directly after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studio’s Loki brings the God of Mischief to the forefront of this superhero franchise yet again in pursuit of glorious purpose.

Unfortunately for Loki, his purpose no longer involves stealing the Tesseract and taking over New York with an obnoxiously big space robot. Instead, the god will find himself standing trial for altering the original timeline.

Yes, the very timeline where he learns to fight alongside his brother and is horrifically killed by Thanos. We still haven’t recovered from that one, and Marvel’s already eager to use our love for Tom Hiddleston’s backstabbing bad boy against us again.

As it turns out, there is a group called the Time Variance Authority that restores the proper flow of time in situations like this, and they aren’t too pleased with this new Loki variant wreaking havoc on the timeline.

Instead of erasing this Loki from history, however, Mubious (played by freaking Owen Wilson) steps in to offer the god an opportunity to work alongside him and help correct the latest timeline variants.

This series promises large-scale trickery and dark time-bending mysteries, all in the spirit of a pre-Ragnarok Loki who has yet to undergo a redemption arc. Loki will use chaos and manipulation to take what he is owed from an organization that knows his trickery all too well.

Hiddleston returns as Loki, marking over a decade since he first stepped into the role. Hiddleston and Wilson are also joined by Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who plays Ravonna Lexus Renslayer, the TVA’s righteous judge, and Wunmi Mosaku, who plays Hunter B-15.

Miss Minutes, the official spokesperson for the TVA and a talking cartoon clock, will also appear as a crucial player in the series — at least, we have to assume as much.

If what we’ve seen of this mischievous series is any indication, Loki’s potential to rule this franchise will have the world kneeling at his feet soon enough.
