This Is UsSeason 5 Episode 11, “One Small Step,” is an Uncle Nicky special through and through. The story will dive into new storylines separate from his Vietnam storyline, in both the past and present day.
This episode’s focus is on telling the story of the man who waited an entire lifetime to live again.
As if This Is Usheard our pleas for new character dynamics, Nicky Pearson shows up on Kevin’s doorstep and demands to see the adorable child named after him. It’s a sweet gesture that becomes a much bigger moment of celebration for Nicky when you realize he hasn’t flown in a plane since he was airlifted out of Vietnam.
Present-day Nicky takes his first steps towards becoming apart of the Pearson fold and sets the story on course for his mysterious future storylines with Rebecca in Kevin’s luxury cabin. Past Nicky will also deal with change as Jack pushed him to live a little and ask Sally out from work.
Sally has been mentioned previously as the woman Nicky was dating when he was fighting in the war and the owner of his old RV. So it will be interesting to see if she fits into the greater story being told here.
There’s still so much we don’t know about Nicky, so this focus on everyone’s favourite uncle is a welcoming addition to this season.
