Walker’s childhood best friend returns to town on Walker Season 1 Episode 3, “Bobble Head.” Matt Barr guest stars as the man of the hour, Hoyt Rawlins.
The past two episodes prove that Walker isn’t the guy who always follows the rules. That doesn’t look like it’s changing any time soon. In fact, Hoyt’s return to town could push Walker to cross a line. Bonham warns in the promo video that Walker has a blind spot for old faces.
This comes after Micki expresses concerns about her partner’s decisions. She is more than suspicious about the real reason Hoyt is back.
Hoyt’s return doesn’t affect just his old friend. Abeline, Walker’s mother, is thrilled to have him home, but Geri is feeling less than thrilled. Her stance is understandably more conflicted since Hoyt is her ex-boyfriend.
This pairs nicely with the knowledge that Geri and Walker’s late wife Emily were best friends. There is a history to this group that Walker has only scratched the surface on. It appears that Hoyt Rawlins is going to bring a lot of that history to the surface.
