Preview — Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip With Sam and Graham
Outlander‘s greatest duo is back to celebrate the rich history and culture of Scotland. No, not Jamie and Claire — I’m talking about Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish.
Their characters haven’t always seen eye to eye, but in real life, the two actors couldn’t be better buds. And they’re taking that loveable bromance on the road with Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip With Sam and Graham.
The series is inspired by McTavish and Heughan’s love for their homeland, and the TV series that has given Scotland’s tourism a surge of popularity in recent years — not to mention a wave of pop-culture familiarity.
That fascination is what this documentary hopes to capture, as the two men explore the very highlands they walked as Jamie Fraser and Dougal MacKenzie on the first two seasons of Outlander.
With fans facing the greatest Draughtlander in the show’s history, and wanderlust watchers unable to travel anywhere farther than the grocery store, the idea of frolicking through Scotland’s sprawling pastures with a camera crew sounds rather thrilling.
As does the promise of men in kilts.
The Starz travel series is created by McTavish and Heughan with the first season comprised of eight episodes. The series will follow the two native Scottish actors in a vintage camper van as they explore Scotland’s vibrant heritage and complex history.
Throughout this joyride, viewers will get to explore prominent Scotland historical sites and familiar film sets, including Glencoe, Inverness, and the Culloden battlefield.
And there’s no need to be an expert on Scotland to enjoy this docu-series; this deep dive into the land and lore is meant to feel like a guided adventure from the perspective of two men who “know nothing,” as Heughan puts it. Their genuine curiosity and friendly banter will certainly make this trip a memorable one.
Men in Kilts might just be the perfect escape this Valentine’s Day, and who doesn’t want to spend time with two Scots who refuse to wear pants?

The two will reunite for an epic adventure, exploring their heritage and meeting an incredible collection of people who truly showcase what it means to be Scottish. The half-hour, eight-episode series offers the duo’s one-of-a-kind perspective on everything from Scottish clans and the Battle of Culloden to whisky tasting and folk dancing, with Sam and Graham’s witty banter and hijinks leading the way. Whether hanging off the edge of a cliff, wrangling a flock of wild sheep or discovering the true legacy of their Outlander characters, both men dive head first into each and every experience.
