‘Black-ish,’ ‘Lovecraft Country’ Lead 52nd NAACP Image Award TV Nominations

The nominees for the 52nd NAACP Image Awards have been announced, and the TV list is topped by a perennial winner.

Black-ish once again leads the way with 11 nominations. In addition to outstanding comedy series, stars Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jenifer Lewis, Laurence Fishburne, Marsai Martin, and Miles Brown all received nods.

Ross will compete for outstanding actress in a comedy series against her TV daughter Yara Shahidi, who is nominated for spinoff grown-ish.

The drama categories are dominated by HBO’s Lovecraft Country with eight nominations. It is joined by rookie nominees P-Valley and Netflix breakout Bridgerton.

Entertainer of the year features TV stars Regina King, Viola Davis, Trevor Noah, and Tyler Perry, joined by DJ D-Nice. 

Celebrating people of color in film, TV, literature, and music, the 52nd NAACP Image Awards airs Saturday, March 27 on BET, BET Her, CBS, MTV, MTV2, VH1, and LOGO at 8 pm ET.
