The search for a cure intensifies on Swamp Thing Season 1 Episode 8, “Long Walk Home” when Swamp Thing rescues an injured man. This man vows to help find a cure. Now Abby isn’t the only one looking for answers to help him.

Although, this man’s identity is just as big of a question as whether he can be trusted or not. Swamp Thing’s cautiousness is expected since more people are interested in killing him than saving him at this point.

Meanwhile, Abby faces new pressures and pushbacks the CDC. The promo video suggests Abby will have to go through a lot of red tape in order to be heard.

It’s hard to tell whether Dr. Palomar (played by guest star Adrienne Barbeau) will be on Abby’s side or not from the photos and promo video

To make matters worse, she’s confronted by Nathan Ellery and the Conclave upon her return to Atlanta. Abby is going to have a lot to deal with now that the Conclave is working with Maria Sunderland.

There is a lot to discover about what Marais and Alec Holland’s life look like in the hands of Maria Sunderland and not Avery.

Elsewhere, Matt learns the truth about Avery Sunderland. Since Swamp Thing Season 1 Episode 7, “Brilliant Disguise,” revealed that Avery is Matt’s father, it’s safe to assume this truth is Avery’s fate.

Episode description: Swamp Thing (Derek Mears), rescues an injured man who upon recovering, vows to return and help find a cure. But can he be trusted?

Facing new pressures from Dr. Palomar (guest star Adrienne Barbeau) and the CDC, Abby returns to Atlanta, only to be confronted by Nathan Ellery (guest star Michael Beach) and the Conclave.

Matt (Henderson Wade) learns the truth about Avery Sunderland.

The episode was directed by E.L. Katz and written by Doris Egan.
