Preview — Swamp Thing Season 1 Episode 5: Drive All Night

Previews, Swamp Thing

Swamp Thing returns after a short hiatus to amplify its supernatural elements. Abby confronts the ghosts of her past on Swamp Thing Season 1 Episode 5, “Drive All Night.”

The episode’s fitting title and the promo video show that Maria Sunderland isn’t the only one who sees Shawna’s ghost. Abby is haunted by her childhood friend during “Drive All Night.”

Swamp Thing teases details about Shawna’s death and Abby’s involvement in every episode. The first scene after the teaser in Swamp Thing Season 1 Episode 1, “Pilot,” gives enough clues to know that something happened in a car on that bridge. The promo video follows through on all of this.

Hopefully “Drive All Night” will give us some concrete answers about Shawna’s death. It would be nice to see Maria and Abby get some much-needed closure before the end of the season.

Not only does Abby have to juggle finding a cure for Alec and dealing with Shawna’s ghost, she also confronts the dark forces in Marais. One or more of these things is likely to backfire, since Swamp Thing must use his abilities to save Abby.

The photos below show that Swamp Thing helps Maria Sunderland as well. It may be too optimistic to believe that Maria may befriend Swamp Thing and work with him and Abby to take down Avery.

That would be a pretty epic way to repay the favor if Swamp Thing saves Maria’s life like the photos below suggest. The episode description doesn’t bode well in Swamp Thing’s favor with the people of Marais though.

Check out the photos and promo video below for a preview!

Episode description: Haunted by the ghost of her childhood friend, Abby (Crystal Reed) is forced to confront both her past with the Sunderlands, as well as the dark forces at play in Marais.

When Abby’s life is threatened, Swamp Thing (Derek Mears) uses his abilities to save her, but it’s Matt (Henderson Wade), who ultimately, saves the day, further isolating Swamp Thing from the human world.

The episode was directed by Greg Beeman and written by Franklin Rho.
