Daisy and Coulson are stuck in a time loop!

Yes, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 7 Episode 9, “As I Have Always Been,” is a regular groundhog day nightmare for our time-travelling agents.

To make matters worse, any failed attempts to save the Zephyr from being swallowed by this “time storm” will result in everyone’s favorite duo having to watch their teammates die horrible deaths, over and over again.

I’ll admit Sousa dying in Daisy’s arms sounds like incredibly romantic content — but it will no doubt be just as traumatic.

On the bright side, viewers can expect plenty of Simmons content, with Elizabeth Henstridge pulling double duty as director and actor. Does this mean we will finally get answers on the FitzSimmons front? One can hope.

Our Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be taking a break from fending off the Chonicoms to tackle the one true enemy standing in their way — time.

It’s true “As I Have Always Been” puts Coulson and Daisy on the clock. However, with only a handful of episodes left, these stakes feel bigger than one bottle episode. We are in reach of the finale and despite the fun these individual episodes are having, there’s no definitive endgame in sight.

Just as this mission to save the team from a time loop comes down to having enough time, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s success will come down to just how much meaningful story this series can pack in before departing on the final mission.

Check out the photos and promo video below for a preview!

Episode description: A time storm ravages the Zephyr, propelling it toward destruction while simultaneously forcing Daisy and Coulson to relive their failed attempts to save the team over and over, until they find a solution or are swallowed by the storm. Making it to their next destination will take trust, courage and sacrifice from everyone on board, but it will all come down to having enough time.
