First Look at The Umbrella Academy Season 2
The Umbrella Academy returns for its highly anticipated second season later this month.
Season 2 proves that Five’s warnings of time traveling to avoid Vanya’s apocalypse should have been headed more seriously back in 2019. Now the Hargreeves siblings are spread out over a three-year period, starting in 1960, in and around Dallas, Texas.
That means things are picking up from where last season ended, except it’s not that simple. Time travel comes with its own special complications, meaning some of the siblings have been stuck in the past for a while.
This leads them to create new lives for themselves in an attempt to move on from the apocalypse they believed they left behind. This mindset also makes them believe they are the ones who survived their blast to the past.
Since things can never go easily for the Hargreeves family, Five learns that the apocalypse followed them to the past, because he lands right in the middle of it in 1963. Of course, the family’s disruption of the timeline is the reason for this new doomsday.

The Umbrella Academy must reunite again to figure out what causes doomsday, stop it, and return to the present. They must not only restore the timeline but also stop that apocalypse. Sounds simple, right?
Well, to add more stress to an already traumatic experience, the family is also being hunted by a trio of Swedish assassins. It’s really just another normal day in the life of The Umbrella Academy.
The trailer gives a quick glimpse at what life looks like for each of the siblings in the ‘60s.
Klaus is living his best life as a leader of a cult, which isn’t all that shocking. Luther sheds a few layers to take his powers inside a boxing ring, and Ben bickers with Klaus over some car troubles.
Allison looks like she’s a part of an organized sit-in as a form of peaceful protest. She is joined by one of three newcomers to the series.
TV Line reported on the latest additions to the cast. Raymond, played by Yusuf Gatewood (The Originals), is “a born leader with the smarts, gravitas, and the confidence to never have to prove it to anyone.”
Diego appears to be in an institution with another newcomer named Lila, played by Ritu Arya (Humans).
She is described as “unpredictable, mischievous and sarcastic, she is gifted with a twisted sense of humor.” She is also penned as a “chameleon.” Diego, who used to hide in the shadows as a vigilante in 2019, may meet his match with Lila.
Lastly, Vanya is seen with yet another new face named Sissy, played by Marin Ireland (Homeland).
Sissy is “a fearless, no-nonsense Texas mom who married young for all the wrong reasons,” TV Line reported. The photos and the fact that Sissy wants to “rediscover what life and love has to offer,” give me hope that Vanya may have a better love story than Harold Jenkins.
The trailer has plenty of other incredible moments that you have to see for yourself, including Hazel, baby Pogo, nods to the comics, and a featured song by Gerard Way.
All signs point to Season 2 being just as incredible and unforgettable as Season 1.

Synopsis:
Five warned his family (so, so many times) that using his powers to escape from Vanya’s 2019 apocalypse was risky. Well, he was right – the time jump scatters the siblings in time in and around Dallas, Texas. Over a three year period. Starting in 1960. Some, having been stuck in the past for years, have built lives and moved on, certain they’re the only ones who survived. Five is the last to land, smack dab in the middle of a nuclear doomsday, which – spoiler alert! – turns out is a result of the group’s disruption of the timeline (déjà vu, anyone?). Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse. All while being hunted by a trio of ruthless Swedish assassins. But seriously, no pressure or anything.
