What to Watch on TV: One Day at a Time, Love, Victor, Miss Juneteenth
Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of June 14th! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from marathons to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to while stuck inside.
This week’s picks include Insecure‘s season finale, The Great Debate‘s debut, One Day at a Time gets animated, and more.

Insecure – Sunday, June 14

The Lavender Scare – Monday, June 15
PBS is re-airing a special that takes a look at a period of time not too long ago when Washington had a purge of suspected homosexual employees. Narrated by Glenn Close, The Lavender Scare airs Monday, June 15 at 9/8c on PBS.

One Day at a Time – Tuesday, June 16
The Alvarez family is back in an animated fashion to bring us an episode that has Penelope dreading the visit of conservative family members. How will the very important conversation go? One Day at a Time airs Tuesday, June 16 at 9:30/8:30c on Pop.
Episode Description: Penelope’s conservative family comes to visit; Penelope dreads that with the election coming up, they won’t be able to avoid fighting over politics, leaving the Alvarezes to strategize how to get through it with the family intact.
Love, Victor – Wednesday, June 17
Coming from the world of Love, Simon comes the story of Victor, a new student at Creekwood, as he navigates life at a new school, self-discovery, and love. Love, Victor debuts Wednesday, June 17 on Hulu.
Series Description: Set in the world of the 2018 groundbreaking film LOVE, SIMON which was inspired by Becky Albertalli’s acclaimed novel, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, the series follows Victor, a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city and exploring his sexual orientation. When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Wednesday, June 17

In the aftermath of their face-off against the Chronicoms, LMD Coulson realizes that they come upon a very important date in S.H.I.E.L.D. history — Sousa’s last day alive. Will they preserve the timeline or try to save him? Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Wednesday, June 17 at 10/9c on ABC.
Episode Description: It was just another average morning on July 22, 1955, when Agent Phil Coulson realized the importance of that day in the S.H.I.E.L.D. history books. With a chip on his shoulder and a genre-bending glitch in his system, he’d set into motion a chain of events that would hopefully preserve the timeline as we know it and ensure those pesky chronicoms get the ending they deserve. Burden of Truth – Thursday, June 18
After Kodie’s latest hearing, questions arise about what’s really going on in family services. Joanna and Billy look into the troubling connections they are discovering. What do they find? Burden of Truth airs Thursday, June 18 at 8/7c on The CW.

Syfy Wire’s The Great Debate – Thursday, June 18
One panel from San Diego Comic-Con is making its way to televisions before the virtual convention takes place this year as Syfy brings rotating panels tackling some of fandom’s biggest questions, hosted by Baron Vaughn. Syfy Wire’s The Great Debate debuts Thursday, June 18 at 11/10c on Syfy.

Padma Lakshmi brings viewers a look at the diverse cultures and foods related to various immigrant groups across the United States as she explores how these groups formed American cuisine today. Taste the Nation drops Thursday, June 18 on Hulu.
