Single Parents Season 2 Episode 17: Untz, Untz, Untz

Reviews, Single Parents

On Single Parents Season 2 Episode 17, “Untz, Untz, Untz,” Miggy interferes in Douglas and Poppy’s relationship, but it actually ends up moving them towards the next step. So it looks like Douglas may owe Miggy a thank you.

The fact that both Poppy and Douglas hate Douglas sleeping over at Poppy’s isn’t surprising at all. Poppy’s admission being delayed is a bit annoying, but the storyline redeems itself from that lackluster element with a really sweet, emotional moment between Poppy and Douglas.

Douglas and Poppy’s call on facetime is a reminder of why they we fell for them in the first place. They are absolutely adorable together and are a great match. Douglas putting the phone on the pillow next to him is quite possibly the most adorable thing he has ever done.

Rory and Poppy moving into the Fogerty house will be an entertaining adjustment, and it will hopefully allow Rory, Emma, and Amy more screentime. It feels like we haven’t seen as much of them as we have Sophie and Graham.

I’m picturing Rory’s attempting to re-decorating the house, and Douglas and the twins getting upset that they have to lose/share some of their space. Should Poppy accept Douglas’ offer to move in?

Is it weird that some of my favorite pairings on the show are when kids hang out with a different parent? Angie and Sophie and Will and Graham are always fun to watch.

Will and Graham are surprisingly alike, and it’s always entertaining to have to watch Sophie put up with Angie’s antics. She’s is never enamored by them.

Sophie and Angie are the more entertaining part of the storyline. Single Parents takes it a bit too far with Angie’s attempts at seducing Colin. It’s incredibly cringey, and as someone who hates second-hand embarrassment, it isn’t enjoyable.

Angie doesn’t need to make such an obvious idiot (love you, Angie) out of herself. Sophie delivering burn after burn is entertainment enough. And it is honestly a bit surprising, in a bad way, that somehow Colin ends up kissing Angie at the end of “Untz, Untz, Untz.”

The twist of Sophie falling for Percy is unexpected. All the bouts of arsenic poison must have clouded her judgment. Seriously, she goes from being over him to swooning within a matter of minutes. It would’ve been nice to see her warm up to him slightly before the admission.

Well, if Percy and Sophie are going to become a thing, then this means more games of Orchard are in store! Now I want there to be a bottle episode of Single Parents where there’s a game night for kids and adults at someone’s house. It could be hilarious.

Stray Thoughts
  • Will calling out Graham’s dry spell is a hilarious low blow.
  • How does Percy feel about Apples to Apples?
  • Does anyone know when or how Graham learned to speak Italian? It’s always a delightful surprise when he speaks it.
