The theme of New Amsterdam Season 2 Episode 4, “The Denominator,” is moral dilemmas.
Helen faces one because she has a patient who wants to die. Dr. Castro doesn’t seem to believe in her treatment choices, so tensions between the women will continue to rise.
Meanwhile, the dream team of Dr. Frome and Dr. Kapoor team up against the city when they suspect a patient is suffering from lead poisoning.
Max decides to help a patient who hasn’t asked for it, and he might regret his choice.

Episode description: When Iggy and Kapoor discover a patient might be suffering from lead poisoning, they are forced to take on the city. Meanwhile, Max’s unsolicited attempts to help a patient backfires.
