Grace and Frankie to End With Season 7, Will Become Longest-Running Original on Netflix
Netflix just released some bittersweet news for fans of Grace and Frankie.
According to TV Line, the streamer announced that Grace and Frankie Season 6 will air sometime in January 2020, with the exact date to be announced. It also renewed the series for a seventh season which will also be its last.

But, on the up-side, Netflix also pre-emptively announced that Grace & Frankie will be it’s longest-running original series when it concludes with season 7. Deadline reports that the series has been granted a 16-episode order for the final season, bringing the total episode count to 94.
Grace & Frankie stars Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda as two women who move into their shared beach house after their husbands leave them for each other. Throughout the five seasons that have aired so far, the show has provided a hilarious and yet touching perspective about what it means to grow older.

The series has also earned 11 Emmy nominations, six Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, and a Golden Globe nomination for Tomlin.
“We are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though final, season. We’re so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well,” Fonda and Tomlin told Deadline. “We’ll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we’ll still be around. We’ve outlasted so many things—just hope we don’t outlast the planet.”

Tolin and Fonda will be returning for the final season and Martin Sheen, Sam Waterson, June Diane Raphael, Brooklyn Decker, Baron Vaughn, and Ethen Embry are also confirmed to be returning in their respective roles.
Martha Kaufman and Howard J. Morris will also return as showrunners and executive producers alongside Paula Weinstein, Robbie Tollin, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross who will also be serving as executive producers.
