Killjoys Review: Cherchez La Bitch (Season 5 Episode 7)
We’re setting up for the grand finale on Killjoys Season 5 Episode 7, “Cherchez La Bitch.”
There’s nothing wrong with an hour that mainly focuses on lining everything up for an upcoming episode. It needs to be done. We’re fighting a war, not a single battle.
It’s a little disappointing to end without learning what Zeph figured out about how to stop The Lady, but at least we know she made a breakthrough. It’s about time the team had some solid leads, and now with Fancy’s first hand accounts of the Armada and Zeph’s insight, we have a better plan.

While the whole team isn’t back together, at least we’re slowly regrouping.
It feels like forever since Dutch and Zeph were together, fighting while everyone else was asleep, and actually, Zeph hasn’t been around Johnny and D’av since they woke up. So, it will be so much fun having them back together again, and I’ve missed my D’av and Fancy bromance moments more than I can say.
Hands down the highlight of the hour is Zeph, Pree, and Turin dealing with the hatchling that Turin stole from Old Town.
Pree: What if the box cracks?
Zeph: We scream and run and die.
Turin: Goddammit, next time I make the plans.
Pree: What are you doing?
Turin: Getting my boot ready in case we have to stomp this shitty bitch.
It’s pure hilarity, and they are such a fun trio that we don’t get to spend enough time with. We need some levity in this time of war, and the scene with them trying to place the camera in the hatchling cube more than delivered.
Sure, Dutch and D’av attempting to give a presentation on Leithian history is amusing, but it doesn’t hold a candle to Zeph, Pree, and Turin trying to get intel on the hatchling.
Turin’s pep talk that he gives Zeph is a sweet moment, well as sweet of a moment as we’re going to get that involves Turin. He’s not really the pep talk type. His motivating speeches involve a lot of yelling, but it’s one of the reasons why we love him so much.

However, the pep talk combined with him sacrificing himself to be bait to save Zeph worries me. It sends up the “someone’s about to die” red flags. It’s a lot of good deeds and good character moments for Turin in one episode, which is normally what happens right before that person dies.
Seeing how this is the final season, it wouldn’t be surprising if some beloved characters die. It’s a dark thought I try to push to the back of my mind, but it’s sadly a possibility.
The fact that Turin doesn’t die during this episode, however, gives me a bit of hope that we will see the angry ginger again. Turin is pretty wily, so I can see him outsmarting the Old Town kill squad. Or, maybe Aneela and Delle Seyah end up saving his life because last we saw, they were headed to Old Town.
Pree: If this thing gets out and jumps on my face, I want you to-
Zeph: Mercy kill you.
Pree: Fight for me!
Zeph: Yes, okay, that too.
Hopefully, this is just an instance of me being paranoid and Turin will live to yell another day. What do you think? Should we be worried about Turin surviving the season?
Stray Thoughts:
- I am so glad to have Lucy back, but I’ll definitely miss Newcy.
- Aneela and Delle Seyah need to regroup with everyone ASAP.
- I’m excited to see Calvert interact with the rest of Team Awesome Force.
