Gossip Girl Reboot Ordered by HBO Max
Picture this — the year is 2008 and everyone is obsessed with the hot new show about the scandalous life of manhattan’s elite. Gossip Girl was everywhere. Everyone watched it — even those who pretended they didn’t.
Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen became fashion icons and everyone had an idea about who the mysterious Gossip Girl was.

Now it’s 2019 — not even 10 years have passed — and it seems that Gossip Girl is coming back into our lives. As reported by TVLine, The CW’s breakout hit is going to be rebooted by WarnerMedia’s HBO Max.
There have been steady rumors for the past six months about this but there was nothing concrete — until now.
Is it a full reboot with different actors playing the same roles or will there be a group of new characters? There will reportedly be a new group of private-school students, and according to the streaming service, the reboot “will address just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years.”
HBO Max has ordered ten hour-long episodes, and the original show’s creators, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, will be back at the helm. Josh Safran is also back as EP and part of the writing team.
For now, that’s all we know. Can lightning strike the same show twice or will it go the way of failed reboots?
Only time will tell,
XOXO Gossip Girl.
