Get a First Look at NBC’s ‘Bluff City Law’ Starring Jimmy Smits
It’s a family affair on NBC’s new legal drama, Bluff City Law.
The Jimmy Smits vehicle centers on the relationship between Smits’ Elijah Strait and his daughter Sydney, played by Caitlin McGee, as he tries to reconnect with her when she rejoins his firm after being estranged from him for years. Big personalities and years of tension promise drama both in and out of court as these two rebuild their relationship and navigate how to work together again.
Joining Smits and McGee on the series is MaameYaa Boafo as Briana Johnson, Barry Sloane as ake Reilly, Michael Luwoye as Anthony Little, and Stony Blyden as Emerson.

Executive produced by Dean Georgaris, David Janollari, and Michael Aguliar with Jessica Yu directing the pilot the one hour drama from Universal Television and David Janollari Entertainment premieres September 23rd at 10/9c.

Official Synopsis:
Coming from a famous Memphis family known for taking on injustice, brilliant lawyer Sydney Strait used to work at her father Elijah’s (Jimmy Smits) celebrated law firm until their tumultuous relationship got in the way. After barely speaking to him for years, Sydney is suddenly thrust back into the family fold when her philanthropist mother passes away unexpectedly. In the wake of her loss, hoping to reconnect with the daughter he loves, Elijah asks Sydney to rejoin his firm. She agrees because, despite her lingering resentment and distrust, she knows that working alongside her father is her best hope at changing the world… if they can ever get along.
