Tell Me a Story Season 2: Odette Annable, Matt Lauria, and Ashley Madekwe Among New Cast Members
When CBS All Access’ hit Tell Me A Story returns for Season 2, there will be new fairy tales to explore and some new faces.
Deadline reports that Odette Annable and Natalie Alyn Lind have signed on to be series regulars. Matt Lauria, Ashley Madekwe, and Eka Darville have also signed on to be series regulars, according to TVLine.
Tell Me A Story Season 2 will explore the tales of three princesses — Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. And in true Tell Me A Story fashion, you can expect that these fairy tales will be showcased in a dark and creepy light.
Lauria’s character, Jackson, is described as the black sheep of his family. Jackson is torn between his demons and his desire to be a better person. During Season 2, Jackson will cross paths with a mysterious woman, and she will pull him into a sinister web of deceit and murder.
Lind’s playing Ashley, who is a take on Belle from Beauty and the Beast. A country music singer on her way to the top, Ashley should be living the dream, but she’s hiding from the spotlight. She survived a brutal attack, and unfortunately, Ashley discovers that this nightmare isn’t behind her quite yet. Ashley spends her free time at home, hiding and avoiding getting too close to anyone.
Darville will be playing Beau, who is described as stoic and honorable. Beau’s commitment to following a moral code has had catastrophic effects on both his personal and professional lives. Season 2 will feature Beau trying to figure out his new reality and learning that it is difficult to navigate the fine line between right and necessary, between duty and desire.
Annable’s character Maddie is a modern take on Sleeping Beauty. Maddie is an overachieving middle child who is always trying to keep the peace, especially when her siblings and loved ones are spiraling. However, Maddie is reaching her breaking point. After trying to keep everything calm in her family for years, Maddie might not want to do the same for the man she loves.
Madekwe is Simone, who is a take on Cinderella. When her father dies unexpectedly, Simone is forced to go back to the life she left behind as she attempts to process her feelings of regret and anger. She will do whatever it takes to uncover her the truth behind her family’s dark secrets, even if it means putting her life in danger.
As previously announced, Paul Wesley will return to star in Tell Me A Story Season 2 as Tucker, a struggling novelist, who spends his sleepless nights in a cabin in the woods. Tucker spends his days trying to prove that he’s good enough for his beautiful fiancee. There’s a dark secret looming over Tucker, threatening to destroy his world.
Tell Me A Story returns to CBS All Access later this year.
