First Look at ABC’s ‘Stumptown’
Cobie Smulders returns to the small screen, this time on ABC in the new adaptation of the popular Stumptown comics by Greg Rucka.
Smulders stars as Dex Parios a veteran living in Portland Oregan and working as a P.I. Rucka’s comics that the show is based on take inspiration from writers like Raymond Chandler and shows such as Magnum, P.I., and The Rockford Files which hopefully all adds up to an acerbic, smart, fun ride this fall.
In addition to Smulders, Stumptown stars Tantoo Cardinal as Sue Lynn Blackbird, Cole Sibus as Ansel Parios, Adrian Martinez as Tookie with Camryn Manheim as Lieutenant Cosgrove and Michael Ealy as Detective Miles Hoffman.
Executive Director, James Griffiths, wrote and directed the series pilot which is being produced by Jason Richman along with Ruben Fleischer and David Bernad (The District), Greg Rucka (author of the Stumptown graphic novel series), Matthew Southworth, and Justin Greenwood (illustrators of the Stumptown graphic novel series) at ABC Studios.

Official Synopsis: Based on the Stumptown graphic novel series, the Stumptown TV show follows Dex Parios (Cobie Smulders)—a strong, assertive and sharp-witted army veteran with a complicated love life, gambling debt, and a brother to take care of in Portland, Oregon. Her military intelligence skills make her a great PI, but her unapologetic style puts her in the firing line of hardcore criminals and not quite in alliance with the police.
