The Magicians Review: The 4-1-1 (Season 4 Episode 11)

Reviews, The Magicians

Kady and Zelda find themselves in a sticky situation, Quentin trades his conscious with his past self to talk to Mayakovsky, and The Monster finds a possible solution to his problems on The Magicians Season 4 Episode 11, “The 4-1-1.”

Julia’s journey towards getting her magic back is coming to close end with the arrival of The Binder, but The Monster kidnapping her is a significant problem. If Penny and the group can’t figure out how to get to Julia before The Monster can put his sister in her, there might be a chance to stop him.

If The Monster succeeds in getting his sister inside of Julia, he could be unstoppable. Julia’s body is fit for a goddess, the perfect match for his sisters god powers without any problems. Hopefully, The Binder will try to come to Julia’s aid now that he’s found her and trying to fix her powers, but it could be a long shot.

There’s a possibility that The Binder could try to help Julia, but I doubt that he wants to get anywhere near The Monster without an imminent plan to get rid of him. It sucks that there’s a possibility of Julia becoming the bad guy along with Eliot just when her powers might’ve been restored.

I know that Julia is considering becoming a human, but I don’t think that’s a good idea because Julia is a significant character in the story that is magic. She is a Goddess. Magic has and will eventually find its way to her again, even in the human world. She could have a sweet, happy life for a little bit, but I think that she’ll get dragged back in no matter what.

Everett trying to become a god is a big problem because if he does he’s going to wreak havoc on the hedge witches and anyone else he feels is beneath him. If Zelda had listened the multiple times she was warned about him this could’ve been information found way earlier.

Kady’s strength is enduring and damn strong for her to step into the poison room to help Zelda, even with the poison blood-sucking bugs. This is where Penny lost his life and if they don’t figure something out quick it could be where the both of them die as well.

Quentin’s love for Alice, even his natural tolerance, is completely gone and it shows on his face the moment he transfers to his past consciousness. I don’t think that they’ll ever get back together or be back on a friends base and I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing.

Alice taking full advantage of the opportunity to kiss Quentin’s past self is entirely self-centered and downright gross when she knows how he feels about her now. It doesn’t matter if the old Quentin made the first move, it’s a clear violation of Quentin’s wants, and I don’t blame him if after this he breaks all contact with her unless he absolutely has to speak with her.

I’m curious to see what’s happening in Fillory and what the woman means when she says someone built something so the water can’t move freely. Is it like a dam? Why did the fate winds show Josh having his own tv show about food? I mean, it makes sense for him.
