Preview — New Amsterdam Season 1 Episode 18: Five Miles West
The lights are back on for New Amsterdam Season 1 Episode 18, “Five Miles West,” and for some of the hospital’s doctors that means finally facing some harsh realities.
We know that Max has a new oncologist who has no other roles to balance with him. She’s definitely not his friend, so maybe he’ll actually begin to understand how serious a cancer diagnosis is.
But Max isn’t the only one with some difficult encounters ahead of him. Vijay finally faces Ella after their argument about Rojan. We’re hoping he doesn’t leave the meeting with a bitter taste in his mouth because his relationship with the barista is sweet.
Both Max and Vijay have a lot of introspection to do.
Meanwhile, Reynolds is focused on helping a patient with Cystic Fibrosis and Helen is finally able to take a big step in her personal life, hopefully with Akash, the man she should be focusing on.

Please tell me about the tree mural in last nites episode 04/16/2019. Is there a meaning?
I don’t know if there’s a meaning, but it’s horrific. I’m trying to understand what show producers were thinking. Diego Rivera New Deal art, this is not.
