What to Watch on TV: Week of February 24th
Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV! We’ll be sharing our picks of what to watch for the week, from new specials to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to.
This week’s picks include The Oscars, the beginning of the end of a magical series, another step closer to the ultimate unmasking, and more.
Here are a few recommendations for what to watch on TV this week:
91st Annual Academy Awards – Sunday, February 24
After the tumultuous lead-up to the show itself, we are very curious to see how the biggest award show of the season honoring the year in films will play out. The Academy Awards aka Oscars are set to air live (with all of the categories being presented live as well) on Sunday, February 24 at 8/7c on ABC.
Episode Description: The 91st Oscars will be held on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood and will be televised live on The ABC Television Network. The Oscars also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
Shadowhunters – Monday, February 25

It’s the beginning of the end for Shadowhunters as Season 3b kicks off and finds everyone dealing with the loss of Clary and the arrival of a new face. Shadowhunters premieres Monday, February 25 at 8/7c on Freeform.
Episode Description: In the emotional midseason premiere, everyone is dealing with the loss of Clary and are trying to move on best they can. Unbeknownst to them, the Shadowhunters face a new level of evil that they can’t even imagine with the arrival of Jonathan Morgenstern.
The Passage – Monday, February 25
Tensions rise even higher for everyone as Brad and Lila try to save Amy as Amy and Carter’s bond seems to be strengthening. Meanwhile, Project NOAH falls into the control of an unknown element, leaving Sykes and Richards concerned. The Passage airs Monday, February 25 at 9/8c on Fox.
Episode Description: Brad and Lila flash back through their history together as they plan to save Amy. The Secretary of Defense gives Horace Guilder (guest star James Le Gros) full authority over Project NOAH, leaving Sykes and Richards terrified for what his plan of attack might entail. Meanwhile, the bond between Amy and Carter is stronger than ever, as he prepares her for Fanning’s grand plan, and Lear fights to help Elizabeth before it’s too late.
The Gifted – Tuesday, February 26
It’s time for a plan to go into action, but Reeva finds herself meeting some resistance from the group. Meanwhile, Reed works on dealing with his powers with a sobering realization coming to the family. The Gifted Season Finale airs Tuesday, February 26 at 9/8c on Fox.
Episode Description: Reeva prepares to carry out her plan for the Inner Circle, but not everyone is on the same page. Reed struggles to manage his powers, and the family realizes that without enough of the serum, it’s only a matter of time before he completely loses control. Frustrated and egged on by Benedict Ryan, Jace and the Purifiers are on the attack, but for Jace, things aren’t as black and white as they once were.
Whiskey Cavalier – Wednesday, February 27

Though the series technically makes its debut behind the Oscars, Whiskey Cavalier makes its formal timeslot debut on Wednesday, introducing Will Chase and Francesca Trowbridge and their inter-agency dynamic. Whiskey Cavalier premieres Wednesday, February 27 at 10/9c on ABC.
Episode Description: Following an emotional breakup, Will Chase (codename: “Whiskey Cavalier”), is assigned to work with badass CIA operative Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge (codename: “Fiery Tribune”). Together, they lead an inter-agency team of flawed, funny and heroic spies who periodically save the world—and each other—while navigating the rocky roads of friendship, romance and office politics.
The Masked Singer – Wednesday, February 27
The end is near on Fox’s latest singing competition, The Masked Singer, and it’s down to just 3 masks remaining. Who will take home the win and who are under those masks? The Masked Singer airs Wednesday, February 27 at 9/8c on Fox.
Episode Description: The three remaining finalists compete for the golden mask, and one by one their identities are revealed. Host Nick Cannon joins panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, and guest panelist Kenan Thompson.
Suits – Wednesday, February 27
Suits’ season is coming to a close and with it comes someone looking to Harvey for payback. But with the firm’s support behind, will it be enough to keep Hardman away? Suits airs Wednesday, February 27 at 9/8c on USA.
Episode Description: When Hardman comes looking for retribution, the firm rallies to Harvey’s defense.
Legacies – Thursday, February 28
It’s road trip time for the Legacies crew as they go in search for the urn before the next creature attacks. Of course, along with the artifact hunt, the group are also dealing with the possibility of their abilities being revealed. Legacies airs Thursday, February 28 at 9/8c on The CW.
Episode Description: When the urn goes missing, Alaric (Matthew Davis), Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), Josie (Kaylee Bryant), Lizzie (Jenny Boyd), Kaleb (guest star Chris Lee), Dorian (guest star Demetrius Bridges) and Emma (guest star Karen David) hit the road to locate the artifact before the next Malivore creature arrives. Meanwhile, Lizzie takes aim at Hope for all the past spring breaks she’s ruined. Finally, the group bands together when a town-wide quarantine threatens to expose their supernatural identities.
