Shadowhunters Review: Lost Souls (Season 3 Episode 11)
The Institute mourns the death of Clary, Simon and Jace taking it worst of all. Meanwhile, Luke works day and night to figure out if Clary could be alive instead of dead like originally thought on Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 11, “Lost Souls.”
Jace is falling back under the spell of his depression with Clary’s death and the horrible things he did as the owl the only things he can think about. Jace needs the help of his family to get through the pain and desperation that he’s feeling, but he doesn’t want to open up about it.
Jace is lucky that Izzy finds him when she does because he’s at a dark point and shouldn’t be alone with any weapons. Jace thinks he’s alone, but he’s not an Alec does an excellent job of trying to get him to realize that. Alec loves Jace with all of his heart and can’t imagine a life without him; he’d be exactly where Jace is if Jace died.

DOMINIC SHERWOOD
Alec has always been one of my favorite characters so I might be biased, but I love the growth that we’ve seen in Alec and how he’s maturing. Taking Jace off duty to force him to get help couldn’t have been an easy decision, but he knows that he needs it.
Alec is also one of the only people who will completely shut Jace down and put him in his place if he’s making stupid decisions, and right now that’s what he’s doing, but out of love for him.
Words can’t accurately describe how adorable it is having Alec and Magnus take care of Madzie. I know that Magnus, right now, wouldn’t want to do it because he has no powers and can’t protect her, but I hope that Alec and Magnus eventually become the guardians for Madzie. Alec lights up the second he’s around her, and she can’t stay away from him. It’s a perfect fit.

MATT DADDARIO, HARRY SHUM JR.
Magnus and Alec would be the cutest dads ever.
Magnus without his powers isn’t wholly defenseless, and that’s something that Iris can’t comprehend, that’s why when he puts up one hell of a fight to keep her out of his mind she’s taken aback at first.
Luke being the only one to keep digging to find out what truly happened to Clary doesn’t shock me because he loves her like his own daughter. What’s so sad about everyone thinking that Clary is dead and not fighting it is Luke found out precisely what happened to her.
Luke figured out how Clary could still be alive because of the teleporting apartment, but it’s going to take major convincing to make anyone else believe that he’s not just talking nonsense. I hope that they listen to him sooner rather than later because I don’t know how long Clary can put up with Jonathan.

DOMINIC SHERWOOD, ISAIAH MUSTAFA
I hate that it, but as Clary falls all the way down the snow-covered hill I can’t help but laugh hysterically. What did she think she was going to do out in the middle of nowhere in Siberia? She’s lucky that Jonathan kept following her and got her to safety or she could’ve froze to death.
I don’t like the way Jonathan is acting towards Clary. He thinks that everything he’s done is forgiven because they’re siblings and people can change, so if Clary has good in her then there must be some good inside him. Umm… no.
I do agree with him that Lilith deserves to stay in Edom, but I don’t trust this side that’s all of a sudden a family lover. I hate that Clary can’t do anything to Jonathan without it affecting her as well. Jonathan’s going to be a major problem this season.

MATTHEW DADDARIO, EMERAUDE TOUBIA
I love Simon so much and watching him think that he killed Clary is gut-wrenching. He’s so stunned from her death and the fact that she died as a result of his mark that he won’t leave his house, but Maia won’t let him stay that way for long.
Maia may have been gone for a good minute, but she’s someone that Simon needs to get out of his funk. If she hadn’t made him leave his house to see Raphael, there’s no telling how long it would’ve been before he did anything for himself because he didn’t want to live.
There’s no way that Penhallow has no clue about the clave torturing downworlders. Seelie’s are unable to lie and wouldn’t lie, anyway, about being tortured by the clave because it violates the accords. I won’t be shocked if Penhallow is the one behind all of it.
