Preview — New Amsterdam Season 1 Episode 13: The Blues
New Amsterdam Season 1 Episode 13, “The Blues,” is going to be a big one for Dr. Lauren Bloom. The show is returning from a longer break than expected, and we assume Helen has told Max about her drug problem. It’s quite the cliffhanger.
We hope facing personal demons “head on” means more than her colleagues confronting her about her problem and threatening to fire her.
It would be nice to learn something about her family. At the very least, why does she live at a hotel but avoid actually going there at all costs? That would probably explain a lot about her addiction.
In other news, Dr. Reynolds is taking a cue from his new boss and does an expensive surgery that will help him make a rare diagnosis.
Also, NBC thinks it’s very important to remind us that Max has cancer.
