11 Characters We Love from ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ and 4 We Love to Hate
While we loved most in the town of Greendale, there are still a few characters on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina that are just absolute garbage.
From sexist and slimy to toxic and cowardly and borderline stupid, here are the four worst characters from Season 1 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
1. Father Blackwood
Let’s be honest: Lady Blackwood deserved better, Zelda deserves better, and even Prudence deserves a better father than Father Blackwood. He’s a “warlock slut” of the worst kind and massively patronizing to every woman he comes in contact with to boot.
From trying to trick Sabrina into signing away her freedom at her dark baptism, to constantly cheating on his wife, lying to his own daughter, and manipulating Zelda’s feelings, Father Blackwood is truly the warlock scum of Greendale — and his obsessive intent on procuring a specifically male heir for his legacy is eyeroll-inducing.
2. Principal Hawthorne
Blessedly, Principal Hawthorne isn’t around that much. This guy is basically every sexist trope wrapped into one person. He doesn’t care about Susie being physically assaulted and even implies that Sabrina trying to find the boys who did it would be a “witch hunt.” The irony!
When Hawthorne makes his return towards the end of the series, he lecherously hits on Mary Wardwell in the middle of a tornado warning. Gross. We can’t say we’re even a little bit upset that Madam Satan turns him into her dinner.
3. Mr. Kinkle
Listen. Harvey turned out miraculously soft and kind for someone with a father like Mr. Kinkle. Harvey’s dad has no interest in Harvey’s aspirations as an artist. He basically forces the teen into a life in the mines to carry on the tradition of the Kinkle men, with no regard for Harvey’s feelings about it.
He’s full of toxic masculinity and short on real love and affection for his sons. We’re going to miss Tommy protecting Harvey from Mr. Kinkle’s near abusive parenting choices.
4. Dorcus
I think we can all agree that Dorcus is the worst Weird Sister. She aids her sisters in tormenting Sabrina, actively takes part in attempting to kill both Harvey and Tommy Kinkle, and then when she and Agatha are caught, Dorcus immediately rats her sister out like a total coward.
To make matters worse, she’s loyal to absolutely no one. She fully goes along with sacrificing Agatha just to save her own skin!
