Preview — Riverdale Season 3 Episode 1: Chapter 36: Labor Day
Riverdale Season 3 Episode 1, “Chapter 36: Labor Day,” kicks off another dark and twisty look at the seedy underbelly of “the town with pep!”
Gang wars, mobsters, vigilante justice, townsfolk hiding tons of juicy secrets, and an alarming abundance of murderers seem like child’s play compared to what comes next for Archie, Veronica, Jughead, Betty, and all of the darkly reimagined incarnations of comic Americana.
On Riverdale Season 2, Betty vowed to be done with darkness, but it looks like she’s going to find it more difficult to put the past behind her than she ever expected. There’s still another Black Hood on the loose, and Polly’s affiliation with the mysterious “Farm” is bound to turn the Cooper household upside down.
After having the hubris to threaten Hiram Lodge, Archie finds out what happens when you bite the hand that feeds you.
Hiram’s grasp on the town is tighter than ever which promises to further strain his relationships at home. The only forces strong enough to oppose him could be the Southside Serpents and one Jughead Jones.

Episode Description: As the jury begins deliberations in his murder trial, Archie makes a surprising request about how he wants to spend his final days of summer. Betty is forced to deal with her problems head-on after a heated confrontation with Alice and Polly brings up some dark secrets she’s kept hidden. Veronica pleads with Hiram to step in and help Archie before a verdict is announced. Finally, Jughead leads the Serpents against the Ghoulies latest attack.
