Preview — Criminal Minds Season 14 Episode 1: 300

Criminal Minds, Previews

These days, a show reaching 300 episodes makes it a cornerstone of television. Regardless of whether this (currently) shorter season means we’re approaching the end of the series, Criminal Minds clearly doesn’t plan to lose a moment of drama until the final moment has come.

On Criminal Minds Season 14 Episode 1, “300,” two kidnapped team members mean the stakes have never been higher.

We return to our show only moments from the point of Reid and Garcia being taken by a killer. However interesting and/or just plain strange you find the season 13 finale, cliffhangers are par the course. Still, our tensions and emotions are fraught.

I have every confidence this team of heroes will save their friends, just as they’ve done so many times before. On that note, especially given the events of the past couple seasons, when are any of these people going to get a break?

The answer certainly seems to be “not anytime soon”. Still, after this is over, can’t we at least give the BAU some happiness in their lives?

Episode description: When Reid and Garcia are abducted by Benjamin Merva (Michael Hogan), it’s up to the rest of the team to find them. The BAU finds surprising clues in their own history to solve why the two heroes have been targeted by a mass murderer. It’s a race to save them before a “Believers” prophecy is fulfilled, on the 14th season premiere of CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, Oct. 3 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
