Cloak and Dagger Review: Colony Collapse (Season 1 Episode 10)
Cloak & Dagger delivers its most powerful episode yet with Season 1 Episode 10, “Colony Collapse.”
Grading finales and how they tie up the ending of the season is one of my favorite things and, with no surprise, Cloak & Dagger delivers one of the best finale’s I’ve seen in a hot minute.
All season long the question has been: who will die? Will it be Tandy or Tyrone? Well, they both said to hell with that and did their own thing. Who says you can’t change fate?

OLIVIA HOLT
I’m not going to lie, the moment that Tyrone eats Connors with his powers I figure that he’ll be the one to die. It’s as if his powers upgraded at that moment to save the city, but Tandy’s love and admiration for Tyrone is the reason he would never be doing it alone, for real. She would never let him, and because of their fast thinking the both of them live to see another day.
Tandy and Tyrone aren’t the only cute friendship couple though, Mina and Tandy have the cutest relationship with one another and I’m so glad that Mina didn’t die. Hopefully, for Season 2 of Cloak & Dagger, we’ll see Ally Maki upgraded to a series regular instead of only a guest star.
Scarborough finally gets what he had coming and I’m so glad that Tandy and Mina are the ones to give it to him. He thought that he could cause all of this commotion, ruin a city, and then just dip out like it’s nothing. Nope, Mina’s sucker punch to the face and Tandy stealing his hopes away is exactly what he had coming. Now, if only a terror had gotten to him for the final blow.

AUBREY JOSEPH
O’Reilly and Tyrone being locked up is no surprise, I figured that one way or another Connors would have them back in his hands before the fight was over.
Tyrone’s speech to the cop holding them hostage is something that I, personally, feel a lot of people should hear in the real world, not just on TV. It’s beautifully done and I hate that it works, only for someone to barge in just as he’s unlocking the door to let them go.
I am not happy that O’Reilly ends up doing the right thing all season long, shooting terrors with a sniper to save Tandy and Tyrone is a big one, all for her to get shot by Connors and turn into some weird superhuman creature in the end. That’s not something that she deserves, but at least this won’t be the last we see of O’Reilly.

EMMA LAHANA
We know that Emma Lahana will be the villain for Season 2, her new name being Mayhem. Hopefully, Tandy and Tyrone can figure out a way to bring the old O’Reilly back, or at least help her control her powers.
Tandy and Tyrone’s bond is so strong, especially now, and I hope that going into Season 2 we’ll get to see more of it. I think it’s a very high possibility seeing as Tyrone is moving into the church as he hides from the police.
Tyrone has always grown up in an environment where there’s always been someone there, but they haven’t actually been active in your life emotionally. Well, Tandy is that person in his life now. She knows what he’s capable of doing and the infinite potential he has and it’s something she’s not going to let him forget.

NOELLE RENEE BERCY, ANGELA DAVIS
Tandy’s speech to convince him that he doesn’t need his cloak for his powers to work is so heartwarming and endearing. I know I continue to talk about their relationship, but they’ve come so far in just one season and it’s amazing.
Now that the curse of the city is over and they’ve both come out alive does this mean that the tradition of their being multiple divine pairings is over? Will another pair arrive for the next tragedy or will Tyrone and Tandy be forced to fight another war?
Cloak & Dagger Season 2 is bound to be just as fantastic as the first.
Other Thoughts:
- Getting to learn about the history of the divine pairing was interesting. Now I’m more interested in seeing what Evita’s aunt thinks about both of them living.
- I hope that Evita and Tyrone get a real shot at a relationship in Season 2 because she’s proven many times to be good for him, but for next season he’ll need to step his game up.
