Younger Review: A Christmas Miracle (Season 5 Episode 7)
It’s Christmas in July! Younger Season 5 Episode 7, “A Christmas Miracle,” manages to put us right into the holiday spirit in the middle of summer by bringing us a gift we’ve all been waiting for, Charles and Liza’s reconciliation!
The fact that Charles and Liza know so many of the same people was bound to come up at some point, but who knew it would actually work out in their favor?
The inevitable collision of their two lives at Bob Katz’s holiday party, allows Charles to see Liza for exactly who she is.

Which just happens to be exactly the woman he fell in love with, and despite his best intentions to stay away from her he can’t help but fall even more in love with her at this moment.
Something changes for Charles when he sees Liza in this unguarded moment with her family. Everything he’s learned about her over the years at Empirical collides with the truth he’s learned this year and he realizes she’s still Liza.
The fact that the Katz’s have actually been wanting to set the two of them up without knowing that they’re already in love with each other feels like fate. These two are made for each other no matter what life they’re in.
There is almost a sense of relief in Charles especially, now that he’s able to talk to Liza about the things that a couple in their 40s would talk about like kids and marriage.
Liza: Caitlin is why I work so hard for my job. Why I did what I did.
The woman he fell in love with is still there, and the woman Liza is is somehow even more perfect for him than he could have imagined. And every time he looks at her it feels as if he’s looking at her for the first time, falling for her over and over.
Charles turning up on her doorstep on the first night of Christmas break is something straight out of all of the best love stories.
Charles: I don’t care anymore.
These two finally being together is something we’ve been hoping for for a long time and the payoff is definitely worth the slow burn. I can’t wait to see where they go from here.

Kelsey’s love triangle is starting to have actual consequences. Jake and Zane both know she’s seeing each of them now and neither of them is interested in sharing.
Because of their positions, these two men have the power to mess with the book and with Kelsey’s job. I hope she knows what she’s doing.
She doesn’t owe it to either of them to be exclusive, but it might help her if she’s at least honest with both of them.

OTHER THOUGHTS:
- Liza’s knitted Christmas gifts are absolutely adorable.
- Enzo getting Diana into the Christmas spirit is so pure. Liza’s right, he is good for her.
- Sutton Foster gets to sing in this episode, can we have more of that?
- I love that Maggie knows her worth.
- Caitlin is still on Team Josh and encouraging his desire not to give up on Liza. When is this plotline going to sneak back into the mix and throw her love life for another loop?
