Timeless Canceled (Again!) But A Final Movie Could Happen
Timeless fans have been here before! NBC announced the cancellation of the hour-long time travel drama on Friday, but said that fans shouldn’t lose hope for some closure.
Deadline reports that NBC is open to the possibility of greenlighting a two-hour movie to wrap up Season 2’s loose ends.

Timeless made headlines last year when it was resurrected from cancellation after Season 1 only to be uncancelled three days later by NBC. Then NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt attributed the cancellation to the fan outcry.
After a year, Timeless returned to viewers screens in March with a new Sunday at 10 pm timeslot and less-than-stellar ratings.
The 10-episode second season concluded on May 13th with a shocking cliffhanger as future versions of Lucy Preston and Wyatt Logan arrived in the present-day bunker with a potential plan to save their dead teammate Rufus. And it’s no surprise, we really wanted to see Season 3.
“It’s something that we hope to address in greater detail in Season 3 [if the show is renewed], exactly where that particular Wyatt and Lucy came from and what their circumstances are,” executive producer Shawn Ryan told TVLine during their post-mortem Q&A.

“This is a sad day for the writers, actors, crew and especially the viewers of Timeless. We are all extremely proud of what we made and know that it was more than just a show for so many of our fans. It became a passion and a cause for many of them,” Shawn Ryan, co-showrunner of Timeless, tweeted on Friday.

“We’re proud of the impact @NBCTImeless had on so many people – the students who embraced history as a result of our show, the people who were inspired by our stories of inclusion and acceptance. We saw your tweets and were inspired by you,” Ryan continued.

“If NBC is sincere in wanting a Timeless movie to give much needed closure to our amazing @NBCTimeless fans, we are ready to make it. We don’t want the journeys of Lucy, Wyatt, Rufus and the others to end yet. #ClockBlockers.”

The @TheTimelessRoom, the Timeless Writer’s Room’s twitter, also expressed their sadness at the cancellation. For the last several weeks they’ve been keeping fans engaged by sharing deleted scenes and script pages for some of the show’s top moments.
We're so sorry the news isn't better #ClockBlockers. We have fought so hard for the past weeks and will continue to fight to be able to tell more of this story. Thank you so much for your amazing fandom. It has meant so much to us. #EndTimelessRight https://t.co/GYCJgs5LIk
