Preview — Reverie Season 1 Episode 5: Altum Somnum

Previews, Reverie

It seems as though Reverie Season 1 Episode 5, “Altum Somnum,” may finally explain a bit more about the mysterious Monica Shaw this week.

At the very least, we’ll get the chance to see the character as something more than a shadowy rich lady lurking in the background. (Which is good, because that whole schtick is getting mad tired.)

The episode is titled “Altum Somnum,” which literally means “deep sleep.” Now, this easily could refer to the coma victim Mara gets tapped to help. But it could also refer to the idea of reveries themselves, which are nothing so much as waking dreams.

And since Latin automatically makes everything seem more ominous, well… maybe it’s another subtle hint that this technology isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Episode Description: Monica Shaw seeks help from the team after a bombing kills dozens of people. Mara must dive into the mind of a coma victim to try and identify the perpetrator.
