Cloak & Dagger Review: Princeton Offense (Season 1 Episode 5)
Tandy’s abilities to control her powers are getting stronger and stronger as she puts them to the test on Cloak & Dagger Season 1 Episode 5, “Princeton Offense.”
Tandy’s powers might be coming to her easier, but it doesn’t change the fact that she just tried to kill herself by jumping off of a bridge. If it wasn’t for her powers she wouldn’t be here anymore, and I’d like that to be looked at a little more.
It’s obvious that in the last episode Tyrone was talking from anger when he told Tandy to end it, but it doesn’t change the fact that he told her to go through with killing herself. Tandy doesn’t outright mention to him that she did attempt, but through his facial expressions, it’s obvious he knows what happened after he said what he said.

One thing that Tandy is right about is that they need to be practicing their powers whenever they get a free chance. Tyrone is a little hesitant, but he knows that in order to get things under control he’ll have to start trying to use them more.
Tandy’s lifestyle has prepared her well for using her powers in a stealthy position where she won’t get caught looking for a specific person. She knows how to blend in and make herself look like she belongs. This is going to come in handy big time when Tyrone and Tandy go after Connors. Well, I hope they go after Connors together.
I know that it would be a horrible move to kill Peter before Tandy realizes exactly what’s going on, but he deserves to die. Based on everyone’s thoughts about him and his hopes including dead bodies full of money, it’s clear that he’s an evil person who should be taken out.

I love the passion and commitment to figuring out the truth, but sooner or later Tandy is going to jump headfirst and get in major trouble because she’s underestimating the situation. Things could have gone way differently with Peter helping Tandy change her tire. Nobody knew where she was or what was happening, that could’ve been the end right there.
Tyrone’s family has a bunch of secrets they like to keep hidden, which leads me to wonder what else his father has done and what else he’s hiding. His father is normally the one he doesn’t get along with, but this time we see them bond over something that Billy was working on when he was killed. I think that this will be a good thing for Tyrone and his father to do together if it means that his father will open up more.
Tyrone’s mother is my favorite because their mother-son relationship feels special between the two, but she definitely has some secrets about Roxxon up her sleeve that could come between the two. I hope that Tyrone doesn’t find out that his mother is a bad guy helping Roxxon because that would be the worst.

Evita’s bond to Tyrone is so unnaturally strong already at this point, but I think that they make a cute couple. It’s obvious Evita does care for Tyrone and pays attention to how he acts. She’s the only one who truly pays attention to him and the things he cares about.
My only hope with this relationship is that Evita doesn’t turn out to be someone watching him for his powers. Her aunt seemed to know a little more than what she was leading on, which means that Evita could be doing the same thing.
Billy is a constant thought in Tyrone’s headspace, which is why it’s astounding for him to find one of his old friends AND overhear that he knows Connors shot Billy. After all of these years, why hasn’t he outed Connors? Why is he still working with him?
Other Thoughts:
- Detective O’Reilly is one smart cookie laying a coke trap to get Connors to communicate with her more. With multiple people going after him hopefully, he gets what’s coming to him.
- I hope that O’Reilly gets Liam out of jail sooner or later.
- Screw Tyrone’s teammate for acting like beating him up in the locker-room was a good thing.
