The Last Ship to End with Season 5

News, The Last Ship

Many had already suspected the news, but it’s now been confirmed, sadly, that the upcoming fifth season of TNT’s The Last Ship will be its last, according to Deadline.

Rumors began that this would be the case last year when Travis Van Winkle posted a photo on Instagram announcing a “series wrap,” but that post was later deleted and TNT stated that it was “far too early to make that determination.”

Well, now the determination has been made. The good news, also according to Deadline, is that the series will not end in a cliffhanger.

The series, which is led by Eric Dane, was renewed for a fourth and fifth season together in 2016, and filming of the fifth season has already wrapped.

The Last Ship, which is based on William Brinkley’s novel of the same name, also stars Adam Baldwin, Bridget Regan, Charles Parnell, Travis Van Winkle, Marissa Neitling, Christina Elmore, Jocko Sims, Bren Foster, and Kevin Michael Martin.
