Melissa Barrera and Mishel Prada Talk ‘Vida’ and Sisterhood [Video]

What do the two sisters, Emma (Mishel Prada) and Lyn (Melissa Barrera) have to depend on when their mother dies? Each other.

And in the upcoming STARZ series, Vida, we get to see two sisters with two completely different personalities and ambitions journey through grief and restoration of themselves and their home, together.

I recently had the chance to sit down with Melissa Barrera and Mishel Prada, Vida‘s leading ladies, to chat about the show and their sisterhood on and off-camera.

In regard to which scene Melissa Barrera is most excited for the fans to see, the answer is all of them.

“Every scene with Emma and Lyn together, […] you can see that most of the time they’re fighting or you can see why they butt heads so much, but you have those intimate moments where you see the love that they have for each other that are so special,” Barrera explained.

“It was really important for us when we were taking on these roles to really make sure that you have two women that are going head to head a lot, but making sure that just by looking at them you could see the love that was there without having to say it,” Prada added.

“Since the day I met Mishel, I felt protected by her,” Barrera began as Prada nodded her head in understanding.

“I think that helped a lot. Our bonding outside of the set really helped us on camera make that relationship more believable.”

And I can attest to how engaging the relationship between Emma and Lyn truly is. You guys don’t want to miss their scenes.
