Heroes and Villains Fan Fest/Walker Stalker Con Chicago 2018 Preview: Arrow, The Walking Dead, and More

Arrow, Black Lightning, Criminal Minds, Gotham, Heroes and Villains Fan Fest, Legends of Tomorrow, Luke Cage, Previews, Riverdale, The Gifted, The Walking Dead

Sharpen your arrows, grab Lucille, and squeeze into that ridiculously tight leather outfit because the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest/Walker Stalker Con is set to hit Chicago again!

Okay, don’t do any of those things, actually — after all you could get arrested — but in all seriousness, get ready for the celebration of all things fandom.

On April 7th and 8th, the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center will be the host to several celebrities including Stephen Amell (Arrow), Emily Bett Rickards (Arrow), Cress Williams (Black Lighting), Jeffery Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead), Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Robin Lord Taylor (Gotham), and countless others.

Did you watch the Arrow Season 5 finale and have a few choice words for that nasty Prometheus? Well, now it’s your chance, because Josh Segarra will be there happily awaiting your commentary on his top-notch performance as the most memorable villain in recent Arrow history.

Or maybe you would like to offer your condolences to Jefferson Jackson and Carl Grimes. That works too because Franz Drameh (Legends of Tomorrow) and Chandler Riggs (The Walking Dead) will be there as well. It is acceptable to bring flowers.

Don’t worry if the CW heroes aren’t necessarily your cup of tea, because the guest list doesn’t stop there!

Also attending will be Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead), Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead, Prison Break), and Nick Carter (Dead 7). This could seriously be the best team up since Captain America: Civil War!

All celebrities will be available for professional photos and autographs for a small fee. Many of them will even allow for a selfie at their table, if that is what you prefer. Either way, you can’t lose when it comes to getting a memento with your faves. All bragging rights are yours!

Once you have met the stars of your choice, you can take a seat at the panels section and listen to the fans and celebs alike sound off to each other about their favorite moments throughout all the represented shows.

Oftentimes, a small child will stand up and ask some random and irrelevant question causing everyone at the panel to erupt in laughter. These are the moments that really make the Fan Fest memorable!

These panels start as early as 11 in the morning and go throughout the entire fest. Yes, that includes both days! Please pace yourself or else you could get information overload!

Some of the most interesting panels include John Barrowman Unleashed (Arrow)Riverdale (Lili Reinhart and Madeline Petsch), Glenn (Steven Yeun of The Walking Dead), Original Team Arrow (Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards, David Ramsey), and Gotham (Robin Lord Taylor, Drew Powell, David Mazouz).

No matter what panels you choose to attend, it is impossible to go wrong. Just make sure you line up early because they fill up fast!

Aside from the panels, there are also sessions titled Fan Fest Live Stage. These are more intimate one on one interviews that we get to eavesdrop on. Check out Stephen Amell (Arrow), Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead), or Aisha Tyler (Criminal Minds).

And don’t forget about all the wonderful cosplay! Zombies, Mr. Freeze, and Firestorm! Oh my!

Most cosplayers love nothing more than to pose for a picture with fellow fans to show off their flare, but be sure to ask ahead of time. After all, that zombie might not of had his lunch yet. You don’t want to end up a peanut butter and Jerry sandwich!

Among all the organized chaos, are vendors selling everything from rare t-shirts to fan art. You could leave with a “precious gem” that is impossible to find anywhere else.

With all this going on, who wouldn’t want a ticket to a convention unlike any other. Bring your little brother or even come alone. You never know, you could even find your soulmate here. As stars and fans come together, the motto still rings true: “It’s Not Just Fandom, It’s Family!”
