Brandon Spink Talks ‘Berlin Station’ [Exclusive Interview]
Actor Brandon Spink is quickly making a name for himself.
You might recognize Spink from his roles on Game of Silence and Once Upon a Time, and now, you can catch him on the Epix series Berlin Station as Noah Kirsch.
Berlin Station is a contemporary spy drama that takes a look at the activity of a CIA office on a global stage in the midst of an investigation into a now-famous whistleblower.
I recently had the chance to chat with Spink about his role on Berlin Station and what he’s learned from working on the series.

Spink was excited to get to be a part of Berlin Station, noting that he loves dramatic roles and was interested in working on a spy thriller. He also said the overall experience was a unique one because of filming in Berlin.
“Filming in Berlin was pretty awesome. It was beautiful,” Spink said, adding that they filmed at many of the city’s sights. “We got to film at the Berlin wall, so it was just honestly amazing.”
On the series, Spink plays Noah, the son of Leland Orser’s character, Robert. For Spink, one of the biggest challenges in playing that character was creating the emotion necessary for a son who has had a broken relationship with his father.
“Noah’s parents are divorced in Berlin Station, and my parents are not, so I have to create that emotion that I’m not as close to my dad,” he explained. “I really kind of have to build a connection with him throughout the show.”
One of the things Spink loves most about his character is Noah’s outgoing nature.
“He’s not afraid to show his feelings, and he lives by his own rules. That’s pretty awesome about him. He’s a very outgoing kid.”

Working on Berlin Station has been a learning experience for Spink as well.
“The actors are just amazing. Leland [Orser] is really awesome. He took me under his wing to help me with this. He took me around the set. I got a tour, so I got to see everything. It’s really awesome, because everyone’s just so nice, and the cast a crew are just so amazing,” Spink shared.
“Leland gave me some great advice. [To] always stay humble, and that acting is reacting. So I just have to focus on my character. It’s not learning lines, but just listen to the other person, which will carry on for me for future roles.”
Aside from acting, Spink also stays active by playing baseball regularly.
“I really love baseball. I’m a pitcher,” Spink stated. “I travel around Georgia and go play baseball, so I do that every weekend and I have practices.”
When it comes to the kinds of things Spink likes to watch on television, Spink noted Stranger Things and The Flash as two favorites (in addition to Berlin Station, of course). But those are just two of many.
“I’ll really watch any show to be honest with you,” he admitted. “I really love the sci-fi supernatural stuff.”
Be sure to catch Brandon Spink on Berlin Station, airing Sundays at 9/8c on EPIX.
