Blindspot: 49 Reactions We Had While Watching ‘Gunplay Ricochet’ (Season 3 Episode 4)

Blindspot, Reviews

Blindspot goes analog! On Blindspot Season 3 Episode 4, “Gunplay Ricochet,” the team investigates a bomber who feels that technology is the supreme evil, while Roman attends a charity event and pays $20,000 for a wish bracelet.

Yes, a lot goes down on this episode, so here are 49 reactions I had while watching “Gunplay Ricochet.”

1. What a great way to make sure we know this gray flashback scene is set in 1994! Much better than just putting it in the corner of the screen.

2. What game are those kids playing, and are they playing it with Oreos?

3. Isn’t it a rule of the universe that the last box that comes out of your storage space is usually junk? I think you’d miss that box if something important was in it. Which, come to think of it, makes it an odd place for a wedding video.

4. Truth time! Jane is being honest, but I need to know… What happened in Berlin Kurt? Tell us!

5. Zapata doesn’t want Patterson to be in danger because of her investigation into Stuart’s murder, but I am starting to get the feeling that the CIA might have something to do with it. This won’t look good for Zapata if this hunch is true.

6. I never thought that I could like another director, but Hirst is growing on me. The way she’s playing along with this bet is making her seem much more human, while also not regulating her into the realm of satire. And so far, she’s done nothing that looks remotely like a betrayal.

7. We are only five minutes in, and so much has happened so far. We are just getting to the next tattoo! I am happy to see more character stuff happening, though.

8. The info dump feels much more mature, instead of Patterson riffing off what she knows, they’re all working together. It feels much more complex.

9. Well, that’s anticlimactic! Find a van in a parking space while investigating a bomber, and you find a letter. I am going to assume this means something.

10. Of course, he isn’t dead! The question is, how did he do it?

11. Zapata thinks that Kurt and Jane are going to live on a farm in Colorado. That’s just precious.

12. “This marriage is going to be extremely entertaining for all of us!” says the entire Blindspot fandom.

13. Roman, what are you up to? I will say, you clean up pretty good!

14. Is it wrong that I am worried about Blake Crawford? Considering that the last guy that Roman was friendly towards ended up dead, I am not sure his motives are entirely pure.

15. Yep, Roman is definitely up to something, but I shouldn’t be surprised.

16. This bomber is smart. This is a pretty involved plot to get us introduced to him.

17. Who is this guy, and why is he calling her Remy?

18. Okay, seriously, what is up with this guy? He’s wanted for “all of the crimes?” Figure that he must have known Shepherd?

19. Yep, he definitely knew Shepherd, but if he knew Shepherd and seemed to dislike her, then why did he adopt Remy and Roman to her?

20. I’m loving the Zapata and Patterson friendship. I need more scenes of them together.

21. “I’m pretty sure desecrating an American Classic is one of the seven deadly sins!” is the best reaction ever.

22. This episode is definitely more of a slow burn than other Blindspot episodes! Lots of smaller scenes and inter-team interaction, I like it, but this is definitely a different tone than the action-packed Season 3 premiere.

23. Well, that escalated quickly!

24. These wedding testimonials are adorable, but I am also hoping they lead to some more character-driven stories. We didn’t see much of Kurt and Jane’s relationship so we have nothing to compare the change in their relationship to.

25. Oh good, Jane’s alive! I was worried there for a moment!

26. Hirst is still wearing that shirt and manages to keep a straight face.

27. More unpacking of clues. There are definitely more pieces to this than usual, and I realize it’s probably because this guy only works in analog.

32. Despite how I can’t put these wedding videos into context, I am glad we are seeing more of the wedding, and they wouldn’t be as effective if we had seen Jeller’s relationship unfold.

33. Patterson is the ultimate drunk wedding guest! Her existence throughout these video confessionals is just perfect. (“Shots!”)

34. Roman is so charming and it’s giving me trust issues!

35. Okay, Roman is tracking her. I shouldn’t be surprised, but now I am really wondering what Roman’s endgame is.

36. Good question Hirst, because I am sure all the viewers were just thinking the exact same thing!

37. Just a normal couple disarming a bomb together, no big deal!

38. Patterson’s wedding confessional is totally her! Ashley Johnson is doing amazing throughout these scenes.

39. Nice transition back to the bomb.

40. Oh this anti-tamper device is making me tense! It feels like this should be the final immunity challenge on an early season of Survivor, you know, minus the bomb.

41. Oh man, they lost the guy who makes people disappear? That’s a bad sign!

42. Zapata is not good at lip reading! Well, we all have our weaknesses.

43. Isn’t the tip from the last episode the one that talks about the Three Blind Mice? The call that Rich made that went on for a while? I get that Patterson can’t talk about it, but they planted that phone call.

44. Jane and Kurt are just a normal married couple complaining about the other not being romantic enough!

45. What the….Roman tampered with the wedding video! That is just not cool man!

46. Okay, I have to be honest, Roman isn’t wrong. He did think she was Taylor Shaw when they first met, but it’s still an unkind and sadistic move.

47. Oh Reade, you’re going to be in trouble!

48. When has anything good ever come from an envelope slipped under the door?

49. Okay, it should have been a clue when he called her Remy that it wasn’t an adoption of Alice Kruger to Shepherd. So now we’ll be looking for an 18-year-old Jane clone?
