American Horror Story: Cult: Top Moments from “Drink the Kool-Aid” (Season 7 Episode 9)

American Horror Story, Reviews

Things take a gigantic turn on American Horror Story: Cult Season 7 Episode 9, “Drink the Kool-Aid,” when Ally realizes that she’s going to have to start taking things into her own hands.

The closer we get to the season finale the more things are going to take drastic turns, mesmerizing and blowing the minds of viewers with final revelations.

Here are my top moments from “Drink the Kool-Aid.”

Ally Standing Up For Herself

Screen Shot 2017-11-01 at 9.17.19 PM

Ivy has had a speech coming from Ally for quite some time now, and I’m ecstatic that Ally finally got around to handing it to Ivy. It’s no shock that Ivy is going to break down into a puddle of tears to try and get Ally to forgive her because she knows that she royally messed up. She thinks that her little act will change the way Ally feels towards her.

Ally only joined Kai’s cult to get her son and family back, but Oz is her only family now. Once you’ve gone behind my back and conspired to kill me you’ve lost all of my interest. That’s one thing that I can’t understand – how the heck does Ivy think that Ally is just going to forgive her for torturing her on a daily basis and making her lose her mind? Ivy is delusional.

Ivy’s death is something that I’ve seen coming since Ally found out the truth about Ivy, but it is a tad bit shocking when it happens for the sole reason that Ally has been good with Ivy up until this point. This is where Ally’s whole personality changes.

Ivy deserved every little thing that came her way.

Winter’s Awakening

Finally, finally, finally, Winter realizes that Kai is not going to keep her safe if she doesn’t fall in line and act like the rest of his little minions. Blood only goes so far with someone who has lost their mind.

It’s refreshing to see her viewpoints and side change from being with Kai to wanting to get the hell out of town with Ivy and Ally. But, now that Ivy is dead I see Winter being the next to be taken down.

Ally isn’t going to forgive Winter when she enticed Ivy to cheat on Ally and helped Kai with all of his plans. For Winter Ivy was her saving grace with Ally, now she better hope she has a good way to settle things between them before Ally targets Winter next. Or just decides to leave town, which would ultimately get Winter killed because Beverly is no longer on her side and it’s only a matter of time before Kai gets sick of her.

A New Family

Screen Shot 2017-11-01 at 9.16.30 PM

Let me start off by saying – what the hell. For a good minute there I thought that the biggest plot twist by far is going to happen, but Kai isn’t Oz’s birth father like he tried to convince Ally and Ivy.

But Ally, on the other hand, is one smart cookie and has a trick up her sleeve that involves making Kai think he indeed is Oz’s father. My only question is why?

Why make Kai think that Oz is his miracle child when all Ally has to do is poison Kai the same way she does Ivy? There has to be an ultimate goal that Ally is trying to reach and with the way Kai is acting she may get her wish.

Ally now has one over on Kai and is one step ahead of him, but she still should’ve poisoned him the same way she did Ivy and got out of town as fast as she could. Kai’s loyal followers are nothing without him so there’s no way they’d hunt her down to try and get vengeance.

With only two episodes left in the season American Horror Story: Cult could still go anywhere with the storyline, and I’m excited to see how everything is going to play out.

Other Thoughts:

  • Oz making Kai look like a chump in front of all his loyal servants is pure gold.
  • If Winter isn’t the next death, I suspect that Beverly will be the one to be taken out.
  • I haven’t been paying super close attention to Ally’s clothes this season but now that she’s over her phobias is this the first time we’ve seen her wear a sweater covered in holes?
